Axe in the Stone

Hello there

Restarting my gallery here with this piece, which was created in order to improve my previously non existing skills on painting metal.

But well, after finding some very nice video tutorial on that subject I've decided to try out some new techniques (new to me) as well. Those would be e.g. overlaying of texture and playing around with settings in photoshop.

(The tutorial is to be found here together with some others)

And by REstarting the gallery I mean that some of you may remember my old nickname "Hateware" which I think was active the last time a year ago or something.

Critique and Comments highly apreciated ^^

It would have been nice if there was some more abient lighting like the red you did in the background, but the rendering looks really nice and precise. Good job.

This is the first time actually I tried to add some additional light sources to a picture. And I probably kinda rushed that part. I'll keep that in mind for the next time

Haha, if that's the case then it really just happened by accident. I painted the bottom are more or less randomly. Or maybe you're jsut imagining a bit too much
