Void Creature ability brainstorm

I'm in a bit of a mental rut right now, and am having trouble coming up with some ability ideas to get my map into the beta stage. Anyway, I would appreciate some help brainstorming some ability ideas for one of the classes called "void beast".

Here is what I have so far
  • Negation*: Steals life from a single target, healing for twice as much as it consumes
  • Debilitating Aperture: Void Beast teleports a unit through the void realm, moving them instantly to him. This realm is brutally harsh to material creatures. The longer they must remain in the void realm, the more damage they take. Damage dealt is based on distance moved.
  • Withering Touch*: Autocast. The Void Beast's touch can cripple the life force of an enemy and weaken their attacks. This will cause those struck by the Void Beast to have a chance to miss for 3 seconds.
  • Vacuous Consumption (Ultimate)*: Void Beast draws all life into himself and attempts to fill the hunger of the infinite void. All units around Void Beast lose 1/2/3% of their maximum health while channeled. This health is added to the Void Beast

*Means I want the ability to be more original, or think I could come up with something better.

I am good at GUI, and new to JASS, so please keep that in mind with spell suggestion pls. He is a tanking class, and his abilities are themed after "void" effect. I imagine void to be like shadow, but more of an emptiness than a darkness. It's for an arena map against creeps, so PvP abilities would not be viable.

Thanks ahead of time

Void creatures don't consume things ffs, they are void.

Make it have some damadge reduction spell,
or some "void dispersion" stuff that makes him have
75% evasion for 15/20/25 seconds when casted

i think i have a better idea:

Withering Touch : The Void Beast's touch harms the soul of the target taking life equal to the difference between the mana of the void beast and of his target and burning the targets remaining mana

and about this one :

Quote:
Negation*: Steals life from a single target, healing for twice as much as it consumes

Negation*: Transfers the life energy of the target into a void realm (Banish). Each movement the target does in this state takes the life from its target

hope its enough "voidy" :D

Those are good ideas, but they are somewhat PvP oriented, and this is a creep arena (I forgot to mention that, so not your fault). Your withering touch wouldn't be viable since not all mobs have mana, but your negation could be altered a bit

Soul Banish: Banishes a unit's soul to the void realm, leaving the body half way between the worlds (banish). While banished, the soul deteriorates into the void with each second, draining life to the Void Beast. Drains 10 HP/second, increased duration with level. Half duration on heroes.

mmmmmmm, "voidy"

Inverse Vaccum: The Void Beast expands very, very slightly, increasing the power of his moves and attacks and increases in size. This move can be use sucessivly, however, the larger and more empty he becomes, the less stable.
*Each time used adds a 1% chance of implosion when a move is used.*

* May wish to change this percentage or negative effect in some way, depending on how you see fitting.

@PenguinEmperor
Could you elaborate on what your ability does?

Basically, it permanently increases his size through triggers, and slightly boosts the power of his moves, but every time this mive is used, it will add a 1% chance that he will die randomly when he is issued an order.

IE if used 10 times, there's a 10 percent chance he'll die when he does anything.

That may be a bit unbalanced to the hero's disadvantage. What if the buff merely disappeared if the skills wasn't used for a time, but each time that single skill was used in succession, the skills would get a greater chance to deal serious (90%-80% of health) damage if was used again? I'd hate to use that skill five times, order it just to move around the map a little, and then have it explode.

That's true, I wan't thinking how even though 5% is a tiny amount, it still could happen. Your idea for a "Punishment" sounds much better.

When I say "pull", I mean the sort of pull you can vaguely or can run away from. You'll need an awful lot of Set UnitX/Y for this...

Singularity - Causes the Void Creature to collapse in on itself, turning it into an unseen monster (Insert uber imbalanced stats here) and slowly drags other units in.

Voided Mist - Generates a cloud of mist from the void, tearing apart any matter that comes into contact with it. Lasts up to X seconds or until it deals up to Y damage.

Abysmal Grasp (Channeling) - Pulls target unit towards this unit. If that unit comes into contact with this unit, that unit is dealt X damage. Pulls for Y seconds.

Time Rip - Stuns target unit for a short duration and there is a Y% chance that this unit will be pulled towards the target for X seconds.

This would be balanced form of your idea:
Amplify Void: This ability increases the effect of all other abilities by 10%. This move can be stacked 2/4/6 times. Lasts 15 seconds. Using this move causes all abilities to have a 10/8/6% chance to to destabilize the void beast and deal 100 damage per stack to void beast.

Only problem is that the spells would have to be triggered to adjust damage and effects. But the way I've made it so far, that shouldn't be a huge problem

@Tide-Arc
Not bad ideas, but too many of them revolve around moving units towards the Void Beast. I already like my ability "dark aperture", and think it would suit it's purpose well.

But that caps at a max of 300 damage, which isn't a whole lot..

Hmm, ok tweak it to this
Amplify Void: This ability increases the effect of all other abilities by 10%. This move can be stacked 2/4/6 times. Lasts 15 seconds. Using this move causes all abilities to have a 10/8/6% chance to to destabilize the void beast, losing 10% of it's max health per stack.
