Model importing help

I imported a mdx file model and its blp texture file, i set the path as said in its readme but the model still dosen't show up neither in the editor than in the game. Any pros of importing can help me?

If tutorials won't help, try just telling us what model you want to implement.

Also, it is unlikely the model would appear in the editor after importing it, always try restarting the editor before testing the model.

ouch... just noticed a moderator answered my post... but now whats (you might think this is stupid but...) the difference between jass and the normal one? And i am trying to make a hero named sheep lord in my map, and its ultime is sort of a metamorphosis. And im trying to import a nightmare sheep from hive workshop to use as the metamorph. model. well actualy i did import it, i followed the path changing in the readme, and i did import the texture too, but it still dosen't work, i even triyed dosen times!

Does it show a normal sheep, or is it invisible?
It coulde be that the model you downloaded is broken

Well its supposed to show a sheep with horns wings and stuff but it shows just nothing, like invisible. nada. other models did'nt work either.

Tell us, step by step, exactly what you did to import the model. Include a link to where you downloaded the model from and in your description, use very specific explanations (i.e. what path did you import it under, how did you set it to use the custom model, how did you test to find that the model doesn't work, etc.). With this information we can hopefully sort out what your problem is. Without details, we can only gesticulate wildly and make guesses.

Ok, well first i downloaded it from hive workshop, for precise, at http://www.hiveworkshop.com/resources_new/models/2090/
I think it's a special model that comes with a few textures to choose from, i took the second to see what it would do. then i went to take a look at the readme, that said we simply needed to remove the /war3imported/blablabla, so i did that on the texture and the model. Then i tried it on the game, but its just an invisible thing i can't select exept by the hero icon on top left. So thats about it. T_T

Just looking at the download page, I don't see any reason to think there's any choice on the textures; you need all 3.

But vexorian im serious, what's the diference in jass ? does it only add features or does it remove some too?

Oh well i did also try with all 3, but it didn't work either, and the readme says i think, that we can choose between the lava and rock texture, or bones. Ok i just checked and my mistake, you're right. ;) but... it still dosen't work... :(

Ok just now i put all the textures, changed the path, i checked the model's path too, but when i place my nightmare sheep in the editor, it shows the checkered green box and says it can't load war3imported/nightmaresheep2.mdl, but the file is not even an mdl! i just don't get it.

I don't know what you are talking about.

Please try not to have double posts.

If importing the three textures without any path, then importing the model, then giving the model to some unit and restarting world editor does not work, then you should try contacting the maker of that model.

Would it be possible that my World Editor is, bugged? Because the first time i ever imported a model it was a spaceship, but i didn't know about changing path or texture so leaved it alone. I gave it to some unit, then i placed it in the editor. it worked out. But then the next day when i came back to work on my map, it wasen't working anymore! And all the other custom models i ever try using aren't working anymore since that day. Would it be possible my edditor bugged? or do i need to get jass to get it working? :emote confused:
(And uhh... you will probobly think i'm a noob but... what's double posting?)

For your current issue, nope.

You must save everytime after you import any file, else things get unimported (but they stay in the imports list, it is pretty lame actualy)

I think .mdx files are converted to .mdl when the game loads the map. Either way .mdl is the correct path for a .mdx

Since you got the massive unimport issue you should make sure tto reimport all the files again.
