MPQ Editing To Ease Map Teams

Would it be possible if I send a map over to another person so that they can work on the terrain, but I use an old copy to edit the units, then use MPQ2K to export the war3mapUnits.doo and import it into the newer map to keep the units?

Simply, can I edit the units in one map and transfer them to the new one via MPQ copying?

If so, what MPQ file do I copy if it is not the war3mapUnits.doo?

You do know you can export object data directly in the WE, then import it again all from within the WE... right?.. (both individual object types, like only unit data, or all object data (units, items, doodads, ext. all in one))

Yeah, but copying stuff like that would take me a long time... I guess if that's the only way, I'm willing... but I like to use shortcuts where ever, as long as there is not too much loss.

No, you don't get it.

It exports and imports all the unit data with 2 clicks. You don't have to copy everything manually.

First step: open up your World Editor.
Second step: open up your desired map.
Third step: open up your Object Editor (with units and all).
Optional: Edit whatever units/data you need to edit.
Fourth step: Go to File --> Export Unit Settings. Save this file under some other area you can access easily later.
Fifth step: When you want to use these units later, simply go to File --> Import Unit Settings under the appropriate map.
Note: Importing units will delete any older data files in the map (I believe).
Also note, that you can also do this with Doodads, Items, or all of them by going to the appropriate tab OR doing 'Export/Import All Object Data.'
