you just imported the model, you should manually give the model to a custom unit.

Did you save and exit after you imported the models?

How do i give it to a unit? And shouldn't it replace the other barrels? And yes i imported, changed path and then i saved and exited map editor and entered again but it didn't work.. I think, maybe they are somewhere on the palette but i can't find em

To change the models you follow these steps:

A: open object editor
B: go to destructibles
C: Find the barrels
D: go to the model thingy
C: pick the model you want to use
E: Sit back and admire a job well done

It doesnt work, this is what i did.
Hidden information:

All i see ingame when i place the barrels is a big green box, and when i go ingame all i can see is a shadow where i placed the barrel

I believe I know the problem. The model is supposed to be mdx not mdl.

that can irritate we/wc3 that way? i didnt know.

maybe the model simply is broken?

Well the model file itself is in .mdx format. Just when i change the model file in the item i want it, it appears as .mdl. :S

yeah, the wc3 engine automatically converts it to mdl when you apply it to an object, that's no problem, it's natural.

did you save immediately after importing? Try reimporting the model and this time save immediately.

Make sure you got the required texture files in the required paths (if any)

edit: might be an issue with destructable variations, try temporarily giving it to a unit .

u don't need to save and quit if u just stick the files in ur main wc3 folder, yeah it copies them and makes a mess but then u don't have to save and quit which is a pain in the ass. course if u have any thing in there named the same as an in game texture or model it'll replace it.
