Download my cinematic here: http://www.hiveworkshop.com/resources_new/maps/4802/

It has humour theme and lasts about 20 minutes. It took me very much time to make it so I hope you like it. I intend to make a new version of this with new content, maybe next Christmas. The time limit was 20 minutes so I couldn't put in everything I would have wanted.

I'm too bored to put any screenshots here but if somebody asks I will do that. This cinematic is worth watching and I think it has good quality.

I would appreciate comments.

well, as i mentioned on hive, IMO it was drastically cut to make it less 20 min (or some number like that) Plot was little in chaos in the end, but nice cin 7.5/10

I guess I'll do a quick review.

The story was hard to follow, and sometimes made no sense at all. I think throwing it all into 20 minutes is what killed you there, but there are some uneccesary or dragged out scenes that could've been cut for more story. The terrain varied from adequate to not so great. Some of the voices were decent, others seemed like a casting of 12 and 13 year olds. Most of the lines lacked motion and feeling completely, and sounded as if they were being read off as if even the actor didn't know what word was coming next. For an entree to a humor contest, I didn't smile throughout, but maybe it's just not my type of humor. The music was fitting in most scenes as well.
Overall, I thought in the end most of your ideas were well executed, and you have potential as both a cinematic producer and a terrainer.

If that's how you feel, it's good to have pride in your own work.

ghenjis basically summed this piece up nicely. It has potential, but at the moment the 20 minutes is ovbiously killing it. Quality varies from low to above average throughout the piece. There's clearly some good stuff there, but at the moment it gets let down alot in some areas such as voice acting and some of the terrain.
You have potential, keep at it.

If you think this is average then I have seen only few quite good cinematics and the others have been really bad.

I think you overrate yourself

Agreed with FT, Restor, and TDR.
It's good to have pride in your own work, but too much pride, that's just excessive. Also, don't say you'd appreciate comments and criticism when you copmpletely ignore and deny anyone else's opinion.

Get the bloody hell over yourself.

Jaakko. I will be honest. In order to do that, I must be blunt. Please bear in mind one thing: I am not attacking you. I am not.

My general opinion? It was alright. Alright as in alright. Alright as in there are worse. Alright as in I have seen better. This is not a bad thing. I believe you have also mentioned this is your first cinematic. What is bad about being cut short of good?

Confidence and pride are good up to the point it becomes blatant hubris and you are just setting yourself to be cut off by the legs. I know it is hard to not receive the praise you secretly desire -- and believe me, I know you do desire such praise. I did at one time -- but you must let go.

Now, for my specific impressions on the cinematic.

The loading screen. Interesting. A bit strange, though, his face. A little awkward, too.

Sometimes the cameras were strange. They acted like a jerky roller coaster ride -- stop, go, stop, go, stop, go. Twirl, twirl, stop, go.

The dialogue was cheesy. Most of the terrain varied from not good to decent. The forest terrain was the best. Although a sky sphere cut into the terrain in one part. I wish you got rid of that temporarily during that scene. The upstairs terrain of the tavern comes a close second. The indoor tavern runs third. I do wish the first scene indoors had more cameras. It literally stood there there for at least a minute -- boring.

When I saw the Lord of the Rings reference (One Ring to rule them all), I literally put my head in my hands.

The Sith lords versus the girl was poorly choreographed. The fight just before that was nice, though.

Now I just want to point out that...

Why? It seems you are convinced your cinematic is the greatest contribution to society. It is not.

Alright then show me the best of the best if you are so convinced. I said there would be only a few of them.

I completely ignore other opinions? That makes me so angry that I can't describe in words. People rather say what I do wrong rather than talk about the cinemtatics.

And as long as here Death is the only one who has come up with some contructive critism and I will try to fix those things for the next version. But I don't agree of all the things.

And I don't care what you think about of what I think.
