Intorduction I'm currently working on an rpg with one map called the Relics of the Past. The terrain was originally made for UL by me, but now UL is dead and I didn't want my terrain go to waste so made a new map out of it. It takes place around and inside the capital city ruins of Lordaeron. Story You play as a young blood elf named Eldin, who lives in solitude, roaming through the ashes of Lordaeron, He makes a living from scavenging and tomb robbing. There are riches a plenty in the land of the dead but with it comes a price. And the young blood elf is about to find this out for himself. He was cursed by the spirit of an Archmage, while he attempted to plunder his crypt outside the capital. At first Eldin believes he has become undead. But the Archmage's spirit tells him that his curse has made him and his soul less part of each other. It will allow Eldin to part with his body and walk among the dead. The Archmage tells him that if he does not help him then the parting with his soul will become permanent. Eldin asks what needs to be done, the archmage wants Eldin to use his skills not plunder Lordaeron of its riches but to save and protect them. He wants him to protect the Relics of the Past. Features (High quality terrain) Familiar places like the courtyard, the throne room, King Terenas tomb and many more. (Unique spells) The most important one is that you will part your soul with your body allowing you to control a spirit form of Eldin, As a result you will be able to see and interact with dead people's spirits, which you could other wise not see. (choose a side) during the main quest you will be able to decide whether plundering is worth being cursed for or not, help the archmage, the remnant of Lordaeron's soldiers or join the bandits with plundering and help the forsaken. (Lore items)during plundering or saving the relics, you will find items some which you would except in a city, others are more special like, The crown of King Terenas or the contract of the Alliance. I'm expecting to release it pretty soon, the terrain is 100 % finished so its only the triggers left, which i have been working on these last few days anyway here are some screenshots too. |

Well, here is the first project made out of UL former ressources! Finish it fast, I am longing to play it. Will there be a multiplayer option? |

Well I'm not intending to do multiplayer for now maybe in a later version. |

There is a severe lack of singleplayer stuff around, so if you can match the quality of the story/triggers/etc to the quality of the terrain, this will be a damn fine project. |

It is refreshing to read a story summary where both the grammar and plot are decent, after seeing so many projects that butcher the english language and the art of storytelling. You're already halfway to having a decent project; I say only halfway because even with proper english and a good basis for a story, it's possible to tell it awfuly. I hope that will not be the case. Good luck, and take your time to polish it up. The premise has a lot of potential, the dead spirits you can interact with could have many stories to tell, stories that if made well players could care about. That's the charm of single player games, stories worth caring about, without that it's just like multiplayer, except that the opponents are dumb. Edit: I can't quite remember where, but I think I saw the name Eldin somewhere else quite recently. I probably wouldn't have remembered it if one of the characters in my cinematic project wasn't also named like that. :) |
