Guest | probably the best place for this question... i'm making a non-melee map of a 2 computer players asissting 5 human players in defending something....i haven't decided what yet... they are using many custom units in their armies (computers) so i tried the UD4 campaign script from the undead4 level (when u fight the elves), because it is very simmilar to my idea of them (AIs)... so, what i need for the AI is to build a few units, revive heroes, mine for gold & lumber, expand, build, and repair his base, make his expansions, and attack... it can be done thru various triggers, but i was wondering if it can be done "the easier way" :) or else i would have to add peasants to various unit-groups and issue them orders every 2-3 minutes.... |

The best way for doing that is using AI scripts. Since you use custom units you will need to make some modifications. From what you write I think that this is best done by modifying the melee AI scripts. But you can also use a campaign AI script. JonahDeans AI Builder will make it easier to do these things for WE users but unfortunally it is not yet released. Until then I'd say you should have a look at the FAQs and references posted here and ask questions when you do not understand things. Also have a look at the existing Blizzard AI scripts. If you want an AI for these computers that uses different strategies and other neat things you could also use the AI of the Commander as a base for your AI. |
