Guest | I've been thinking about this for a while, making a conversion of WC2 into WC3. The idea came after seeing a great conversion of WC1 but I just want to know, is it worth it? Is there any ppl who may think this as a good idea or will it just be a waste of time? |

Guest | Do you mean WC2 into WC3, or what you said? |

lol, he said wc2 into wc3. Anyways, if you try, you gonna run into some big problems, namely, naval units. if you can figure out a way to allow them to move only in the water, then i give u mad credit!!! |

We're making a WC1 mod over at the SA (Link). The distant plan for the future is to perhaps make one for WC2 as well. RichBurr2 - The only problems I can think of would be naval units, and perhaps finding available people to help do models and more. |

Guest | Yeah, I thought about naval units but hey, if u try hard enough I think I can find a sollution... It's not gonna be big and bad and heavily scripted, it's just a little project that I intended to do myself. Second of all, I'm not a mean mother****** when it comes to mods... sure I've done my share of mods and maps in the old SC days but it's on a basic level. When it comes to functions like strings, variables and arrays I'm way out of league. I've allways been lost in programmning languages and prefer a graphical interface such as that of WC3 and SC. |

Well one map made navel units that would crash with triggers if they went on land, but that wouldn't work cause youd need tons of locations all over every single map |

Guest | I've figured out how to make the naval units move in water... but now I've come across another problem: The standard ship unit in the editor doesn't have any attack what so ever. Plus, now I've come to think about it, there's only 2 ships available in the game: The orchish jugggernaught and the human ship (which resembles the human battleship very much). That means that I'm about 3-4 ships short on both sides. And I don't know anything about modelling or skinning! There's also another problem... Buildings: The shipyard, the foundry and the oil-platforms. How about oil patches in the water and "harvesting" it? All in all, this is turning pretty advanced and may exceed my capabillities. And that's a friggin' shame, 'cause I really want to make some kinda campaign in WC3 |
