Hey all, well i have used up all my spell ideas so i thought i would come here. I need suggestions for some spells to make. Any kind will do. Or if you just wanted to see an idea into a spell. Pretty much i just need some insperations and fresh ideas. Thanks |

*cough* I like giving ideas. Immolate - Destroys target allied unit and dealing X damage to nearby enemy units. rst Nova's Blessing - Attacks have an X% chance to push all nearby enemy away. Gripping Darkness - Causes target unit to lose Y% of their attack and move much slower. Transmogrification - Forces all the mana from this unit into target unit, dealing X times that in damage to it. If that unit is destroyed, depending on how much excess damage there is, a monster will be summoned. Need better wording skills... so um, if I have 200 mana and the factor multiplies by 5, and the target has 200 hit points, and for each 50 damage excess, there's an additional 1 level to the creep. 1000 damage is being dealt, the target has 200 hit points. 800 damage left over, that's 16 levels on the creep. And I'm out, again! |

Your last suggestion sounds way too AoM-ish, too much logic required and it takes you about 2 paragraphs to explain it and there's no guarantee any idiot could understand it though :P Let me give an example of AoM complexity.. tooltip:

how about.... Random Summoning: summons a random number of creatures (under your controll) at a targeted point and last a random amount of seconds. Gamblers Curse: Once you cast this on a unit every X seconds that unit is damaged for a random amount of damage from 5-35 and the owner of that unit loses a random number of gold from 5-50 |

Wake of Fire Lights a target enemy on fire for 20 seconds. The enemy will take 15 damage per second, and any other enemies it come in contact with will also catch fire, and become able to spread the fire more. |

Nah, I think it was pretty simple compared to what someone could make. A simple spell is boring, bringing a little more complexity to a spell helps make it more interesting to use, and also could allow users to choose different ways to use it. And Sinners, I can help you think of spells. I've designed about 100 unique spells so far for one of my current projects. Each spell is based on the hero with a few exceptions because I couldn't think of something else. Even in those cases I try to make the spell follow along with the heroes other spells to either enhance them or use them. For example: Rat: (yes rat, it's under the animal theme along with 14 others) Multiply: Requires 1 or more rats within 300 range. Spawns a number of rats based on how many are in the vicinity. 2 spawns 1 3 spawns 3 4 spawns 6 5 spawns 10 Gnaw: Does 10 damage and stuns the target for 0.5 seconds. Contaminate: Chance to give the target a diesease that reduces all stats by 1, damage dealt by 20%, movement speed by 10% and gives a 2hp degen. 5% on hit 15% with Gnaw Ult-Tail Throw: Picks up another rat and swings him around 3 times doing 150 dmg to anyone hit. After 3 spins the rat will be thrown towards a random spot, or at anytime you can select the target to be thrown at. If a unit is hit the rat and unit take 200 dmg and are stunned for 5 secs. You see how each spell builds off the main theme of large numbers. Gnaw allows many rats to disable a single target for a long time. Contaminate was based off of the tendency of rats to carry dieseases and Tail throw was put in for fun and to work with the idea of large numbers. If you give me a theme or hero to design spells based on I will be glad to think up some. You can ask for some other spells I have designed. |

to make the table just type in [.table="name"][/table.] without the periods :D and no problem, hopefully the spell comes in handy :D |
