A map I have started working on, which is unlike any other and I mean it...
Story:
Hidden information:
The Planet Pyilya, rich of resources and beautiful, has lived in peace for many millions of years. Settled by a human-like species, it has had a peaceful time and also the 'humans' had a good life on the planet, having lived only with little problems. But now this time is coming to an end...
Since the Planet is one of the last in its galaxy, not to have been harvested down and exploited, the Great Powers of this Galaxy seek to take it, in their desperate need for the resources on it, especially metals. From the far Galaxies the Space Orcs have come with their Elite Troops to take over this important Planet for their advantage, and because of their huge need for metal, which they don't have on any of their planets...
From a neighbor star system the vicious Goblins have come back to the lands their forefathers lived in millions of years ago, having been driven away by the humans. In this war, they want to seek an advantage to take over the world, which they once lived on, with their machines and robots.
During this time of war, one race, nearly forgotten, comes back to the surface, after 15,000 years....the Dwarfs. Having had no interests in the humans, they have sealed themselves in, under the Earth for thousands of years and are finding their technology outdated and in a war that is gonna decide the very survival of their species...
Gameplay:
Hidden information:
There will be about 8 players, and 4 teams.
- Phoenix Cooperation
- Goblin Warhorde
- Space Orc Strike Forces
- Dwarven Guard
The goal of the game will be the destruction of the other teams, by taking every sector of the world and sending the enemy back to space! All races will have unique units and different advantages.
-Dwarfs are tough at keeping what's theirs and will always get defender bonus
-Goblins rely heavily on machines, making them valnurable to some attacks, but very resistant to bullets for example.
-Humans are balanced and like to upgrade their soldiers with better weapon systems. They start off with the best lands to defend, because it's their home
-Space Orcs are pros at what they do and very neatly balanced, but don't have any machines, due to the lack of metals on their planet.
Battles will be fought very different to anything in WC3:
Hidden information:
- A Conquest Map on which you manage, move and order your troops to attack. Also spawns will be selected here.
- The game will run in rounds. Attacks can be made once in a round and every unit can move a field once a round. Incomes and spawns also come roundly.
- There will be no buildings so far. Because the Orcs and Goblins invade from space, they can't build and the Humans already have their villages set up and don't need to build anymore. Dwarfs live underground.
- When a player attacks, the attacker and defender will change screens to the battle screen, which varies depending on the Land they fight for. All units will be teleported to that place and fight it out, as soon as one wins the province will be taken over/kept, and the units teleported back.
- Defender and Attacker can make worlds. Defending always is easier than attacking.
- Smart use of terrain can lead to win! Higher positions are better for shooting, crossing a river takes a units cover away and slows it down. Units in the desert without water will slowly die from the heat, hiding behind walls and boxes will reduce damage, defending an entrenched position will minimize losses, striking from the woods will give cover, while an open field makes you an easy target.
- Interact with your environment. Some cities will have towers, to guard the city. These need energy, coming from a generator. Destroy the generator to cut the defenders tower off their energy, or hack it, to take over the towers, if you have the right equipment!
- Every battle scenario is different with different bonuses and terrain as well as ways to interact.
- Work as a team. If you attack a province together, you will have much higher chances of taking it over! Or ask your ally to protect your lands if you can't at the moment.
Screenshots will come later, as soon as the terrain is completely finished.
