Recently, the screenshots that my brothers and I have been saving are ending up COMPLETELY BLANK when we over them with any program, like Adobe or Irfanview. All blackness, when there's some important stuff to note. We have no idea why this is happening. I'm thinking that it may have something to do with installing Adobe Photoshop, because things started getting screwy-uppy when I installed it. Does anyone know why this is happening? The screenshots themselves get captured correctly, but why does the screenshot save total darkness? P.S. I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum, but no other place seemed to fit quite nicely. |

Hm... have you tried opening them in PS? Why don't you post one of the screen shots or something? |

do you use the screenshots folder in C://Program Files/Warcraft 3 or do you just do, press print screen and then paste into irfanview? |

Did you pirate Photoshop, or is it a legal version? |

I'm saying that if he pirated it there might have been some malware on there or something. I can only guess as to what you were trying to show with that quote though, The_Elite. |

ahhh my mistake i though that you were implying that some file on Photoshop was corrupt and wasnt displaying correctly, but you ment that there could be malware, my mistake |

I've heard that some map hack programs cause all screenshots taken while they are active to be completely black (apparently to prevent people incriminating themselves when posting screenshots, now even stupid people can be safe!). Are you using map hack? |

@Tide-Arc Ephemera Yes, I did open them in MS Paint as well. I even used Adobe Photo Reader and what not and still got blank slates. @The_Elite Yes, I am sure that the screenshots are in Programs/Warcraft 3/Screenshots. Even when we move them to shared folders, the older ones would work properly. @Pyrogasm I didn't pirate Adobe Photoshop; My oldest brother has a legal copy that he shares with our family computer. Actually, this is what we suspected at first. @blu_da_noob That has to be it. I've noticed my brother using maphack, but I didn't think it caused any prolonging effects, so I shrugged the thought of it. However, he always turns it off properly, though. It makes sense, because things started going crazy-dazey around the same time my brothers started using maphack. For LAN reasons, anyhow. (What I don't understand is: why not use "Always Visible" on map options) Okay... Another problem arises... How do I get rid of it? |

To be honest, I don't see much use in a screenshot when it's completely black... What is "opengl"? I have never heard of it? |

All of my screenshots are black also, ironic. ALL of them, I haven't played War3 for a month or so, and now I start playing again, take some screenshots within the last hour, check them, and they're black. I use Irfanview to open them, and converting them leads to a 3KB black image. Saving them into paint after hitting print screen displays the image, but that's about all I've found out. Update: Friend's screenshots are black also. I'm thinking Blizzard did something. |

Okay, that's either REALLY weird, or we have the same problem. I'll try out the paint-image thing. I want to see if my screenshots still end up blank. Thanks for whatever help you guys can offer. Please, if anyone has any information at all, post it. |
