Hey, I attached the map that has the weird crash problem. On my computer the map works seemingly fine. The problem is this: if I save the map under another name: someothername.w3x And then testrun the new mapfile from wc3, without war3err on, then wc3 crashes. I can't get the newfile to run without crashing! It's so strange. I save a working map under another name, and then it doesn't work anymore :S. Wth! Also, if I turn on war3err, then the newmapfile does run! The problem is, in wc3, the newmapfile crashes upon selection. Please help! All this crashing has made me afraid of working on my map. I have worked on it for ages and I've just reached a playable stage! |

Well this is weird. I'd say you should try reinstalling. |

Reinstalling.. hehe. Em, I tried experimenting some with what crashes and what doesn't. What I noticed: my map named firstmap is 284kb. I use 'save as' in NewGenEditor to create a map named secondmap. This map has size 273kb! Could it be that 'save as' doesn't activate the precompiler? I would guess so. Code is bigger after it has been precompiled... the save option activates the precompiler, but maybe the 'save as' option doesn't. When I save secondmap, size 273kb, using the normal save option, then it becomes size 284kb again. When I run the 284kb map it works, while the 273kb version makes wc3 crash on launch. Ok, what was a confusing problem for me now seems to be something silly! It seems so simple now but a few day ago everything just kept crashing on me. Still I have another problem: using either Optimizer or Widgitizer on the 284kb map, which works normally, makes the map unplayable in wc3! Maybe that problem has another origin. |
