I was asking about how to add hero glow to just a weapon, but further reading leads me to believe that which I thought was hero glow on the model's sword, was (probably) actually "the crystal effect" i read about, or...something...just not hero glow..So.....nevermind *_*; |

?????????? That makes no sense. Open up Vertex Modifier and switch to your last geoset (that is, if you haven't merged any.) Create the glow at the points you need them at. |

Well, it makes no sense because I edited my post and omitted the stuff I'd posted before, sorry . The model has a glow sort of color around the sword, looks real neat, but it isn't actually hero glow, my own misunderstanding of hero glow lead me to think it actually was. The reason I know this, is that the glow didn't change color in WC3 Viewer when I changed the hero glow color, and that in the Textures list in the .mdx, there was no part that had the "ReplaceableId 2" in it. It's bright yellow around -just- the blade of the sword, and it's really neat. I abandoned even bothering to try and add hero glow to that spot, because 1) I don't think it would work with that other glow thing there, and even if it did, it would look stupid, I'm happy with it how it is; and 2) I just plainly don't know what I'm doing. I'm currently just trying to add team color to the model, but that's not working at all, my first attempt ended in weird missing textures I mentioned in a different post, that I think you actually have commented on. There's only 3 layers used in the materials, it uses 0, 3, and 0 again (why?) 3 is the RibbonBlur1. Spots where team color should be, there's absolutely nothing, you can see right through the model. My 2nd attempt to add the team color -appears- to work, but the yellowish glow on the sword is gone (which is unacceptable to me), and although I haven't checked it yet, I'm betting it'll crash in WE. This model is very, very cool, I just wish I could figure out how to make the team color work. Take a look for yourself if you're curious. If anyone is curious about the origin of the model, it was done by the very talented Black_Stan. He did awhile back give permission for people to edit it, so long as he was given credit, and of course I intend to, if I can ever get it to work so I can use it. |
