I would say it needs a lot more shading, as in plenty.

definately, needs more shading, and don' t use the smudge tool, it's better to shade with the brush tool.

HELL NO! NEVER! NEIN! VERBOTEN! ACHTUNG! HALT! РУССКАЯ ВОДКА! ЖИТЬ! БЫТЬ! КИШКА! NU! MÂNCARE RÂNCEDĂ ŞI PUTUROASĂ! MORTĂCIUNE DE ŢĂRAN JEGOS! PARAZIŢI INTESTINALI! NEVERA! GATO! SAGRADA FAMILIA!

Never use those dirty tools to paint! Use this method: http://www.wc3campaigns.net/showthread.php?t=82083
If I had time I'd paint over this thing of yours to show you how it should be done.

This is completely odd and off topic but, TDR, seriously man what does Russian Vodka and guts have to do with bad art. Russian vodka is good. And you no the only one that can use Cyrillic here.

Buts yeah, I it does need better shading, Dodge and burn suck, they ruin the colors.

Don't mind the Anti-dodge, burn and smudge dudes.

It's the result that counts, using dodge, burn or smudge looks good, use it. Even professionals use smudge.

I never ever in my life saw something made with smudge that looked good. Dodge & burn are good for tweaking textures, but fuck the life out of colors in painting and make it look like shit.

Halnodor, you don't know what bullshit I wrote in romanian, what I said in russian is nothing compared to that.

Drawing with brushes is more fun than using the dodge/burn/smudge technique.

If I'm not wrong, smudge mostly is used as a tool to add movement to something, but still, it's just so hard to use correctly it does not compensate, and it's usually aplied after the drawing is finished. It's better to just stick with the brushes and maybe dodge and burn, the result will 99% of the time be better than if you use smudge, unless you're a genious.
