it would make a good over head buff. really simple too, if u could texture well. two planes and then fiddle with the skin to get the holes right. i cant do it though. |

Add the circles(with billboarded planes), make it billboarded(maybe, it probably will still look good if you don't). Make the white part use an additive material and the black part use a modulate material. |

lol thats about 10x more complicated then i was thinking. i just thought u could use two parallel planes and texture them. saves polys too. o, and don't add particle emitters, i hate it when ppl have huge particle emitters on models. but yeah it looks nice, just needs the dots, they give it the hypnotic look. and maybe make it move a tad bit faster. |

Actually, I couldn't make it work as is in that picture, because they need to be "their halves". As it was in that gif, they were just copies, and the dots didn't had the right timing on the holes. Quote:

It'd be good if the two apostrophe/comma shaped things were 3D in some way, but I'm not professional at telling what things like this would look in full 3D with necessary billboard planes. Offtopic Nice avatar Mc ! |

thinking back it actually probably wouldn't work with planes because planes face you and if it wasn't it'd look flat and bad. ah well i haven't made any buffs yet so i haven't dealt with this problem. Edit: looks nice in the viewer, i might get around to testing it one of these days. |
