I was looking several hours for a way how to make a unit stun units in area on a attack. The unit was ranged, so I couln't use dummy war stomp, and I'm unwilling to use damage detection in my map (it would be quite difficult way though). First I thought about making a dummy and making it cast some spell with same missile speed as original units'. It failed, because i didn't find any suitable spell, which could serve this way. Storm hammer is not splash, impale makes unit jump and Cluster missiles couldn't be used because they didn't fulfill another condition - I wanted to freeze the units (frost breath effect) instead of stunning them. An cluster missiles seem to have the stunn buff hardcoded. SO, I found this SIMPLE way: Use Frost Breath ability and change its targets allowed to whatever you want - usually something like "Ground, Enemy". Then adjust the range and duration and it is finished :) If you don' wan't the freezing effect and you would like stun instead, change the Buff to "Stunned (Pause)". It has only one downside - you cannot change the chance, it stuns automatically. PS: Sorry for the early submission - Opera treats the "Pause" multimedia button on my keyboard as "Submit" :P |

actually impale animation could be changed so units dont even jump at all, downside is they face the way of the impaler in the stun |
