For those of you who don't know... We normally consider Critical Strike to be undetectable, right? Well, we're wrong. Ghostwolf on The Hive has proven that, in fact, Critical Strike gives off a buff which can be checked for. His method was impractical and non MUI, but I'm sure someone could easily make it work right. Here's how you do it: Make a critical strike, give it a buff. Every time a unit is attacked, check for that buff (waits / timers may be required) Voila. You have detected critical strike. His method was setting every attacked unit to a single unit variable (1 unit on the map vs the hero, lol. His method was not MUI in the least) and then ever .20 seconds checking that variable (which would have a value of a unit) for the buff. Credits again to Ghostwolf, and if this is already a well-known fact that nobody has heard about, then sorry. Proof: |

Well if you up the check timer it could be more reliable because that test map missed several counts. But... that's kinda cool. |

so it means that the buff will not b gone unless you removed it? Hmmmm... |

Relying on buffs for that is so lame. Since you would already need to use damage detection, I think coding your own critical strike would do wonders, you can get rid of the numbers, make them green, and many other nice things. |

Yeah, make them green so morons would think they got healed. |

It's WC3, not Final Fantasy. Green is Shadowstrike... |

Critical Strike works like Bash, when critical strike occurs and it's duration is at a noticeable length, the unit will be paused. The only difference is that Critical strike is able to do this without the "Stunned" buff. |
