http://features.cgsociety.org/story_...?story_id=4375 The biggest, baddest game art competition in the world will be back soon! And among the sponsors there's...Blizzard Entertainment It's the biggest dominance war so far. I sure hope I'll finish my entry this year! Last year I was a fart with particles :(. Doesn't matter if I don't stand a chance; if I'll be able to finish my entry I'll be more than pleased. Anyway, if you ain't going to join, it's at least worth watching. Seeing some of the world's best professionals in the industry at work is a sight to behold and you can also learn a thing or two. Oh, and this year they'll introduce a concept art category!! But I'll be in modeling. So who's comin in with me? jigrael? erwt? andy (don't think he's still around though...)? MaD[Lion]? Hateware (I forgot what your new freakin username is)? eh? |

you should watch the concept art dudes as they make their entries. Looking at a pro's workflow is great for learning. Some of them like to post little tutorials along the way too. |

tdr you are crazy... but that's not new^^ i have to practice much more untill i dare to enter a challenge like this... |

you'd be surprised how many newbies enter. As it says in the article, participation and finishing the entry is most important. Representatives from all major companies scout every final entry, no matter how bad it looks. I mean look at this thing: http://www.gameartisans.org/dominanc.../19_Patina.htm and this: http://www.gameartisans.org/dominanc.../1_tedledz.htm Those basically suck, especially if you compare them to the ones submitted by pros. But they finished and game developers know their name now. eh? |

@antihero: as I said to chriz and camel, I'm very busy right now, having some trouble at university, so I can't do anything for a week or two. I'll do it after things settle down a little. |
