(10) Advanced Battle Average game length: 12.5 minutes Advanced Battle is s highly strategic game where players compete against each other in small conflicts to capture control points and win battles. In terms of genre, the map tends to stick out from most of the commonly percived ones, so therefore I would classify as "Other". To win, you have to set the enemy score to zero. To score, you have to control local cities and towns. And finally, to control the local cities and towns, you must invade the area with allied forces. There are seven properties to control, and seven units to invade them with. Infantry, Rocket Troopers, Scouts, Missiles, Flak Raiders, Battle Copters, and Tanks, all prove a vital role in assaulting enemy positions and defending your own. The game is comprised of fast action gameplay and tactical decisions, but ultimately requires players to get things where they need to be, when they need to be there. Additional information can be found here: http://www.jx3.net/TDG/wiki/index.php/Advanced_Battle At its current stage, I more or less have marked it complete in my books. There isnt anything that really needs to be done, but I would like to sometime submit this into the WC3C Map Database section and need to see what people, (preferably those expierienced with the Submision expectations and sucesses), think of the map. Please, be as harsh as you need to be when expressing a point, and please do not suggest anything without providing a reason why. Please, if you can, treat the map as you would already submitted for potential entry in the database. For certain reasons, I am going to reccomend you play the game three times at least, just to get the feel for it that you need to in order to fully understand the map. Thanks for taking a look, and I hope you have fun while you play. |

Yeah... I wont be able to get them until next Sunday at the earliest unless someone has a desire to help me. Though, right now the map has some big design flaws that I am working to fix up anyway, so at the moment at least, I'm not so worried, though I suppose it would be nice to get other minds working on it. |

TopWolf, has this changed since I last played it? I'm interested in playing it again. I'll see if I can scrounge up some testers and play a few rounds. |

I have recently been updating it minorly, so yes, it has changed. Besides the minor point though, I am fairly sure you will meet many new things since the last time you have played. This game I find to have many design errors that I made unfortunately, so right now I am seeking to amend them, though as I look at it now it seems hopeless in many places. (Not to say that I am going to give up any time soon.) Please do test it if you please, but rather than searching for mistakes I am more interested in ways to repair it. I could speak of them now if you wish, but I think it would be more beneficial to understand perceived mistakes than real ones. If you do choose to test it, please do make to sure any errors or imbalances that I may have missed, as I have not been able to test it myself. Also please let me know what you think of the new terrain. I would join you, but as it is the season of Lent, I will only be able to play on Sundays. I have updated my original post with the most updated version. Hopefully you will find it enjoyable. |
