The Why:
i started this project after i played the creep rebellion, there were a few things that i missed, like for example: the creeps are all stuffed into 1 race, i am trying to create multiple races [trolls, murlocks/mur'gul, furlborgs, etc] then when i started i thought about the need of custom models wich i couldn't do so i requested some models, looked around if i could find anything good looking.
soon i after i started the triggering work, nothing too complicated, started creating the base models, thought about the abilities, names, heroes etc.
then i wanted some feedback on what people would think of this project, so here i am...

Night-Raider - Project Leader, works on the Troll, does the lighter triggering and creates the Tech Trees
xXelw1ntjeXx - Dwarven Creator, he creates the dwarven race [has some problems with his posting ability]

1) Troll Tech Tree: ok, this is the basic template of how the Troll tech tree will look like when its finished, i can't fill them in yet becouse i don't have the custom models [take note: this is made in paint <_<]

Buildings & Functions
Trolls
Troll Camp: Tier 1 HQ Building, Trains Troll Gatherers and has the Backpack Research
Troll Village: Tier 2 HQ Building, Trains Troll Gatherers and has the Backpack Research
Troll Town: Tier 3 HQ Building, Trains Troll Gatherers and has the Backpack Research
Troll Baracks: Basic Infantry production building, trains Troll Spearman, Troll Axethrowers and Troll Warlords
Troll Tent: Raises food ammount
Troll Storage Tent: Serves as a drop-off point for wood and lumber, also it can train Troll Gatherers but it alot weaker then the HQ buildings
Troll Elemental Lounge: Spellcaster production building, trains Troll Frost Mage's, Troll Destroyer's, Troll Druids and Troll Cloudmancer's
Altar of the Jungle: Trains and revives the Troll Heroes
Troll Hatchery: Trains the basic Troll air units, like: Tame Dragon, also contains the Dragon Taming and the Poisonous Spears Upgrades
Troll Sky Hatchery: Trains the basic and the advanced Troll air units, like: Tame Dragon and Troll Bat Rider, also contains the Dragon Taming ,the Poisonous Spears and the Liquid Fluid Upgrades
Troll Market: Sell and pawns items
Troll Tower: A garisonable Tower for base defence, can contain 1 Troll Spearman, withouth that unit it cannot attack
Troll Smithery: This is the Working place of a troll smith, here you can research upgrades for weapons and armor

Please oh please change the color....there's absolutely no reason to make it all in red, unless your goal is to annoy the people reading it. As for the actual map, I find it hard to believe that you can put an appropriate amount of depth, originality, and polish into each of your new races if you're adding 9 of them. Especially since you're already apparently "50-75%" finished with triggering, meaning there will be few if any triggered abilities or units. There's not really point to make 9 new races if they're just the same as the existing races, but mixed up a little.

most of the triggering will be in the picking of the races ^_^ and i'll change the color, i could decrease the ammount of races but i need to pick out the best...
[i suck at guessing the ammount of %'s so i might lower them a bit if more work seems needed]

Questions:
  1. All the races will have 3 tiers?
  2. All your races will follow a standard techtree?
  3. How are you going to balance all the races?
  4. Can you play the normal races too?
  5. Are you going to develop everything custom for each unit in the race in terms of abilities and upgrades, or are you going to take abilities from the standard races??
  6. All the custom abilities will be developed in JASS / vJASS??

Suggestions:
  • Change the red, it kills the eyes, this color makes people don't read your post (which is bad for you), and it's against the rules.
  • My project was inspired in some way in Creeps revolution, and I've been in there for almost 2 years, only developing and balancing only 2 races, so I suggest not to overcrowd your map with races which the player will only be able to select 4, and stick in only 4.

i'm cutting down on the races, i got that but i need to know wich are the best [troll is obviously one since its a cool race]
the red is changed its gone
you can pick the normal races too
the custom races will have almost everything custom
the balancing part is up to the beta testers [as soon as i get a beta done]
i hope to be able to make a custom tech tree for each race, and like all normal races the HQ will have 3 tiers, just need the models [requested these already but no reply yet]
and i dunno JASS but i'll do my best in making the skills cool

Edit #1: i cut down the races to just 5 now 1 has to go and i got 4

i feel this is a necesairy bump, the dwarfs are almost done and that meens that soon you can excpect a test map ^_^ just gotta finish the trolls and find the models for them

I think by the tech-tree thing, he meant like melees 1,2,3 and stuff. There's a more detailed explanation in the tutorials section. All of the basic races follow it. You might want to take a look, whether or not you plan to follow it.

So you're the guy I changed my avatar for. I used that one until about a week after you joined.

i'm trying to make them follow their own tech-trees for a part, like every building they have has a different requirement, but i'm still trying to make it fit, that was just the template, it isn't finished yet

OK, where's the Troll Siege Unit(TM)?
Trolls have potential, but you need to make them unique. Not ability/apperance-unique, but playstyle-unique. If they are just stand-ins for a race, why should I play them? What makes these trolls a race on par with the Alliance, the Scourge, the Horde and the Sentinels?

Oh, and watch the apostrophies in plural, they only refer to ownership, rather than plural, which generally is only indicated by the addition of "s" or "es" except in special cases, like mage - magi.

Just wondering, why do so many people want to make a 5th creep race? Not many people play melee maps in BNet anymore.

Actually, there are a lot of people who still plays melee, is normal to see a lot of FAA on bnet.
