I'm a bit retarded when it comes to modeling and wanted some help. What I'm wanting to do is attach the Phoenix Fire projectile (thin stream) to the Fan of Knives (caster) graphic, where the knives have a consuming trail of flame that not only engulfs them, but trails them. My problem is... I have no clue how to do this >_>

I suggest adding particle emitters to the knives. I think it would be a ton of work to attach the phoenix projectile, because I don't think that particular projectile is as simple as, say, an archer arrow projectile. Anyway, I would suggest small, fast, dense red/yellow colored emitters added onto the knives.

Step one: examine the phoenix fire projectile. Note the presence of "Ribbon Emitters".

Step two: transplant the above to the fan of knives. Now if I remember correctly, there are many knives in the projectile... So you'll need to duplicate many many times. Then you'll need an over-all firey emitter like FLUFF says above, though tick 'model space' so the fire stays on the knives and the trail is handled by the ribbons.

When copying the ribbon emitters to each of the knives, make sure you copy the x,y, and z values of the bone that you're attaching the ribbons and particles to. Hope this helps.
