For some reason heros in my map sometimes get locked in some order upon being moved instantly to another region. It happens about a chance of 1 out of 20 times.. like when i click to move into one region that is triggered to move me instantly to another region.. the moment he ports to the new region he starts walking in the direction of where i clicked... walking and walking and i can't stop him.. and there is a boundary of black unwalkable territory between there and where he warped from and he will stop only when he hits that boundary and allow me to control again. and when i use another trig to move my hero instantly to an area where i'm surrounded by hostiles, the unit sometimes ends up in an endless loop of attacking an enemy unit he first noticed and i can't blink away or tell him to stop.. he wont until the unit dies. this is totally random whether it will happen or not. when this began to show up was around the time i was changing my regions around a little and playing with the shake-camera effects. so i dont see how this can affect anything. it's not like i'm in cinematic mode. this is regular play. it only seems to happen upon entering warps.. which has never happened before in all the versions of my map that i've made.. 26 versions..only when i started toying with the camera shakes. and making my map physically smaller did all this begin to happen. |

okay. i have it uploaded at epicwar.com. here is the link http://epicwar.com/maps/42140/ it's the full last version to act up. i'm currently working on 2.8 to fix what is found in that posted map. trying to look over whatever it could be i just tested again and i couldn't get it to trigger just now.. yet that same version did it about 20 times last night. so this is entirely random. hope it shows itself for you since it's a tournament-style map it's 10 player. and what happens is the player dies.. then walks into one of those warps in the birth area to go to one of the two arena's.. and that's when it seems to have a chance to randomly do that. last night it happened to player blue that i was versing against like 3 times.. he kept saying "wtf, i can't control" and i watched him do what i've had happened to me. |

Are you using the spell Avatar at all in your map? I've heard there can be a similar-sounding bug that arises when a unit dies whilst in avatar form. |

nope. i was just playing it again on bnet with some people and i got stuck once and player 2 got stuck like 3 times. i kept having to kill him to get him unstuck attacking osme object map is unprotected btw. if you wish to view code. i dont bother with protections. Hey, what about impale? I added impaling traps a few versions back. i did notice that sometimes when a unit steps on the platform and is impaled they end up with their selection circle much larger and i have to restep on a trap to fix the circle. could that screw anything up with the control? I tried playing it again with some people and this one guy was totally plagued by getting stuck attacking objects from time to time and once he was walking by himself and couldn't stop his unit and it stepped on one of those impale traps and as he got impaled his unit kept walking while in mid-air and the impale effect graphic that stabbed him, lifting him up in the air moved with him over the distance he walked til the spell completed. that's my guess. someone said something about using instant hero revive maybe causing it.. which i do use instead of taverns. any clue about that? trying to narrow this down. |
