So I'm using a spell that is a Thunderstorm, but the Hero's attack already uses the monsoon lightning bolt. I was hoping to use the Doodad Lightning bolt model for the spell, But I can't figure out how. When i put it in a spell, it doesn't seem to work, because it's normally used by Animation: Play Doodad's Animation (Or whatever). Does anyone know? IN ADDITION: I've imported a few models, all that I've found on the Hive, a Naga Royal Guard model, and air elemental, and an angel. The Models import fine, they appear fine in my WC3 Viewer, but in game and in editor they aren't there. I can select them for models and stuff, but it still just doesn't show up. Has this happened to anyone, and if so, do you know what the problem is? |

your pathings are probably wrong, most common is Textures/model.blp or model.blp some ppl also have warcraft3imported/model.blp. you also have to close and reopen WE (unless u put the files in ur wc3 folder) to see them in editor after u import. it doesn't really matter if u reuse it and i don't think there's a lot of lightning models. i don't no y it wouldn't work except that ur assigning it to the wrong place. |

Well it's not that the skins aren't loading, it says it can't find the .mdl file when I set it in the Object Editor. And I know it isn't 'that' big of a deal, but I'd still prefer to be able to use the doodad model. If it's possible, awesome. If not, I can easily live with it. |

i think it says that when u get the texture wrong but maybe not, i don't remember. |

A couple times I've tried to use tree models by taking an existing tree and just changing the model, but I couldn't get it to work. In order to use those tree models I had to make an Environment doodad with them instead of a destructible. I know that's different than what you said, but the point is that I don't think models work on all kinds of units. Try to make a new custom unit instead of putting the models on an existing one, or vice versa. If that one particular model won't work on one particular unit, keep trying it on others. That was probably a bit confusing, but it's the best I can offer. |
