This project has been in my head... But not officially on any site. I started work on it in about October (2007), but it was very rough and I redid it. I'm about 70% of the way through it, and I've got a working, playable map so far. I'm going to make a demo soon, which will be available to the public. All I need is a modeller (I have plenty of models, but a few more to replace a few bugged ones would be great!), a skinner (maybe to skin a few things so they look like goblins), and a triggerer (the map is most likely going to go into JASS soon). I'd like some people that have experience, I've had some noobs come and they didn't know how to make a single thing, not even how to change what unit uses what model, so it'd be nice to have experienced people. Requirements: Modeller
Skinner
Triggerer
Now, you've most likely been wondering WHAT this project is, right? Well then, heres a little bit of background information (is not permanent, may change) You are a Goblin Exile. You were exiled because of overpopulation. You were left with few supplies. You have banded together with 5 other exiles in order to survive. You crash-landed in your old zeppelin. Unfortunatly, it seems that another group is trying to settle in the same place that you landed: The Ashenvale Forest. Your generator is broken. The zeppelin is destroyed. Only a lightning rod will get you running; but you can't repair the zeppelin. It seems that there is only one thing left to do: Settle there. Although, you are lucky, because there is a bay, but, across the bay is the other team! Although, it is, after all, the Ashenvale Forest. There are tons of rocks to mine and trees to harvest. Build your fort. Sail to the rest of the land and conquer it. Decimate your enemy in order to survive the ultimate challenge. Are YOU a TRUE Goblin Exile?! Coming to a Battle.Net server near you! EDIT: Thanks for pointing it out, Griffen. This map is based off of survival. However, not exactly ITT. You do NOT place objects in your inventory to build them, instead, you place them on the ground as close as possible together and then use the 'build' ability on them. Another difference than ITT is that items do NOT spawn - you harvest them from the rocks and trees around you. Also. I will have some screenshots up soon. Just as soon as Warcraft starts working again. (won't start up, won't read the disc xD) |

What the hell is your map? You kind of forgot any proper gameplay info. |

Eep. Yes, I did, thanks for pointing it out. Let me fix that. ![]() |

Alright. Is anybody out there interested? At all? |

Vaguely. I'd want to see screenshots first. And what exactly do you plan on doing for your project? Terrain and... gameplay ideas? |

Terrain, gameplay ideas, minor triggers, and other things that I can't get others to do. I'm going to be online and playing my current map so far with my friends and maybe the public this weekend; I'll get some screenshots then. |

Come on, people. Whos there? I can't do this project alone! Getting screenies today. |

There's a very low chance anyone will join a project led by someone that nobody knows, and who has no previous work to show for himself. It's simply too big of a time commitment to take that risk. So good luck, but...just look at the other threads in the recruitment forum. It doesn't usually work out, unless you have a really interesting idea. The real way to get a team together for a project is to collect people you know who are interested, rather than random people. |

Yes, it is true that I'm not very well known, but I plan to change that with this project. Yes, it might be quite a big project for my first project, but I couldn't find any projects that I'd like to terrain for that are active, so I made this project. Yes, it isn't too much of an interesting idea, but it will be soon enough. Everyone I know is interested; unfortunatly all of them are either inactive or don't have any talent in map making whatsoever. ![]() |

Okay. It seems that nobody is interested in this project. I'll try and find some people on Battle.net. It seems that I'll have to do without anyone for now, though. In case anyone wants to help, I'll be posting screenshots, the demo, and MAYBE a movie. ...A few minutes later... Demo done. Please test it, people. If you can find bugs, please PM me with the title being "Bug report on GE" or something of the sort so that I'll look at it. I cannot get screenshots today, maybe very late tonight, but no guarentees. Expect them tomorrow. |
