Hi,
I'm using Cedega Version 6.0.2 on Gentoo Linux and I already can play Warcraft 3 and TFT.
But when I want to start the World Editor nothing happens.
Anyone here, who could help me, because I dont want to use Windows anymore...

Hey, posting from some U computer with debian at the same time I am testing this stuff. Anyways:
- You don't need cedega for warcraft III , wine actually does it better , it looks.
- World editor is not going to work on WINE/Cedega anytime soon, mostly due to some bad ideas during its design... Should try requesting blizzard to add an option to move the terrain to an external window instead of inside a winform, if they separated the form and directx rendering window it would work quite fine in WINE.

If you would like to try WINE, get latest version it can run the editor, it is just hard to impossible to edit the terrain and it takes very long to load. I myself, cannot stand it and thus have decided to do my modding without the editor, which would work if I actually invested more time of my last months on making tools.

As a vJasser I just code lately, it is possible to edit map script's using jasshelper and WINE. I just wish there was a way to edit objects, I would be making a better invX already...

Edit: I was working on a project to convert the data files into text editable data and viceversa, but then I just skipped it since it seemed like I was the only one interested in map editing on Linux, might return back to that if I find anyone else interested, (at least 3 guys for god's sake!)

Anyways, time to go.

I'd be interested in map editing in Linux (well, "code editing" to be specific), and I have an Ubuntu partition on my computer which I use occasionally... the only problem is that I have a PPC processor so practically nothing is built for it.

I don't remember if there is a version of WINE that will run on PPC, either.

.

Are you kidding me?
The only reason I am still dual-booting is because I am using WE.

Thank you Vexorian for help.
I thought cedega is using WINE but I will test it with WINE and look what will happen.
Would be great to use the Grimore Pack on a GNU/Linux system.
PS: I'm using vJass and I'm more interested in making scripts than making terrain, but without terrain I only can make systems :-[.

Vex: I'd really want to mod on linux. I have Deabian sarge and it would be great. I kept only on nWindows only for this game.

Terrain is already possible using Zepir's editor on WINE, the bad news is that it looks like it corrupts maps or something.
