AoE Target Circles - By Fluff

This pack includes 9 new target circles to help you customize your map's interface for only about 25kb. Pack includes:

-Alien Circle: Looks kind of futuristic or something
-Bull's Eye: Simple target, maybe useful for mini games?
-Bull's Eye Red: As requested
-Blood/High Elf Sun: Gold sun and moon
-Goblin Explosive Marker: Goblins live to blow stuff up
-Goblin Explosive Marker with no text: As requested
-Scope: Could be used for future/Starcraft themed maps
-Red X: Simplicity
-Whirlpool: Possibly Naga

To use them, first download the zip file and extract them. Then import the one you want to use into your map. Then in the WE go to Advanced>Game Interface... and scroll down about one quarter of the way until you see this:

Image - Placement Cursor________ReplaceableTextures\Selection\SpellAreaOfEffect.blp

Then check the "Use Custom Game Interface" box at the top of the screen and click "Edit Value". Select the newly imported .blp texture and click OK to close those boxes. There you go!

---Please credit me if you use these.

Edit (Feb 14): Newly added a BullseyeRed, Goblinnotext, and Whirlpool

Most of them have the problem that they do not really show the area, but are rather random cursors. Plus, they are all quite simple and look a bit too comiclike
Anyway:
-Alien: basically okay, but a bit too simple imo. If you could make it more complicated/"disturbing"/alienish...
-Bullseye: A nice round one...make it RED and it is perfect imo.
-Scope: No complaints here. Even though I´d usually say that skills using a scope won´t be AoE ^^
-Elven: A bit more round. Make the spikes of the sun not like this: /\ but rather like this: /( and it is better and more elven-ish

Last but not least:
-Goblin. A big LOL! I would throw away any cursor just for that one, laughed for half a minute :D Very nice idea!

The Goblin one is great! I love that idea...

The rest don't really seem to have the same theme as the regular AoE target indicators. Alien isn't rounded enough and ElfSun isn't as ornamented as, say, the Undead targeting circle.

The Bull's Eye definitely needs to be red, and I would rename "scope" to "radar".

Yes, but imo they should at least basically have the correct round form.
You do not always directly aim at an enemy unit, you may also have to predict where the enemies will be. Plus, it is a bit nicer when the cursor is REALLY round.

I really like the goblin one, might use that if you make a version without the "RIGHT HERE", because I don't want any text shown.

Goblin one is epic.

Bulls eye should alternate red/white imo.

The rest could all do with a few additions, but they're great as they are.

Alright, I'll do a little work on them and update this thread. I'll make the bull's eye red and see what else I can do. Thanks for the feedback, everyone.

Attached is the goblin one with the text taken out for ragingspeedhorn. The screenshot is taken from an angle so it may be hard to tell, but the point of the arrow is exactly in the middle of the frame.

UPDATE: I added a red bullseye, the goblin with no text, and a new whirlpool to the pack. New files have been uploaded and it's ready to be looked at for approval.

I think these are pretty good, honestly, but I had originally wanted to wait for an art moderator to awaken from the grave and post something. If these don't get reviewed by an art mod soon, I'll just go ahead and approve them, they're quality material.

I think I really can't pass judgment on this without an art mod around. This is going to have to sit for awhile, sorry!
