Strange elevator help

Hey everyone. Just wanted 2 ask a question but i have no idea where it should go because its slightly unusual. Firstly the idea i have is a tree top village. The problem is that i need an elevator 2 move the hero up 2 the town. I could use steps but it seems kind of strange that elves that built i village in the trees couldn't build an elevator. I'm looking for something similar to dungeon siege 2. Is there any possible way to make the warcraft elevators work on raised terrain cliffs etc? (i'm not using warcraft cliffs) and if so is there a way to make them move diagonally? Or is there a way to take a simple wooden floor board model and use triggers to do the above... While carrying the hero. Thanks.

You can't make the elevators go sideways afaik, but try fiddling with elevator walls + a unit that looks like an elevator.

Then add crow form to the elevator unit + the units ontop and trigger the elevator movement to where you want it to go?

That could b a plan. Although the problem is i'm using invisible platforms raised so the unit can walk on the tree top platforms. So with a crow form the unit will fly even higher then needed. It will raise up basically double the distance. Is there no other way? Otherwise i'll just have to remove the invisible platforms.

Edit: I really need to start reading all above posts more carfully before posting. Anyways, I don't think this applies but...

I have an alternative.

Get rid of the platforms.
Change all doodads to destructibles, and change the pathing to nothing (NONE).
Either replace the hero with one that flys, or use the crow method (above post).
Put regions around the tree village and use events to change the heroes flying height.
Use a trigger with a fast timer/event to change the units height according to the ground (hills, etc.).

invisible pathing does not set the walk hight, thats set by the terrain and any walkables on it. the block is simply pathing.

I'm sorry to disagree nuclear but invisible platforms do actually set the walk height of units. If a unit moves onto a raised invisible platform it'll jump 2 that height... Even though the pathing texture stays on the ground. I think i'll try the storm crow idea. My tree top village is alread made with doodads that have no pathing texture. Thanks :-D

I also thought that it didn't work like that, and in the editor if u place a unit on the raised platforms it stands on the terrain. But in game they're elevated.
