Stupid question, but before I delve into learning JASS, I want to make sure that whatever you do with JASS is usable in online Bnet games. I understand that with JASS, you can do stuff like editing models, graphics, etc. I've also seen that you can do some crazy spell stuff, and even make a nearly unlimited inventory space for units with stuff like InvX. I'm suspicious, however, because I've never seen any Bnet game take advantage of this stuff. Every Tower Defense, RPG, etc. map that I open in WorldEdit has all of it's stuff in plain old GUI trigger form. I've yet to open ANY map and see JASS. |

Because all maps that are made with jass are protected (DotA) and mainly because that Jass maps never rea;ly get finished P.S Jass does not let you edit models or graphics, just maulipulating them...... Also its like saying GUI will not work on B.net coz GUI is Jass -Av3n |

Jass works on battle.net. In fact, all GUI is converted to Jass before being run. For an example of an unprotected map in Jass: http://epicwar.com/maps/36804/ |

Quote:
1: Most of those maps are shit. Almost no shitty maps use JASS. 2: People who JASS are almost always smart enough to protect their maps; something everyone should do anyways. 3: JASS is a semi-rare occurance since it *gasp* requires a hint of intelligence. Not that GUI is for idiots, but JASS is generally not for the lower end of the spectrum. To answer your question, of course JASS is usable for Bnet. Duh. JASS is the coding language of Wc3. JASS not being usable on B.net would be like Halo's code not working on xBox live. Besides, GUI is just shitty JASS with pictures. |
