The Chalange: If you want you can post a screeny of a theme of the Eastern Kingdoms, any location of the 'world'. This being my first epic terrain map, maybe you can recomend some eviromental doodads to be used. the screenshots can be found here http://gwydia.com/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=565 |

The only thing I can get out from wow now is wowiki, not much to glams at. Because I've closed the account... I allso would like to see what others can do with the same theme. I changed the this thread to my map terrain progress... |

I find that your individual structures (eg. bridge) are good, but they don't work together to make a scene. Say, for the first one: awesome bridge, but those towers and High Elven buildings don't remotely match with it, nor do they seem to fit in (they stand out ALOT!) You need more height variation, and on the spots that you do have it, the hills are much too sharp. You also need more texture variation, like in the second one, where there's nothing but sand. You need more environmental doodads; say on the second one, some shells in the water couldn't hurt, maybe some bubbles or an oversized Cloud model to simulate the ever-raging storm. In the fourth screenshot, you have ALOT of empty space and the trees don't match; fix that (maybe add Shrubs or River Rushes, Flowers, Rocks, etc.). Your forests need to be thicker as well. Get a dome for Dalaran or make one out of ForceWalls. I'm not sure if the last one is the Thoradin Wall or the Greymane one, but you need more detail there, ie. plantlife; rocks. And on another note, I truly believe you need new trees. It's a great start though, and you have the general shape nailed. |

I'll work with it really, thank you for your advise, also when you change the fog value, is there a way to change a fog value in a region, giving it more feeling? The only problem with using more and more doodads is that this map shall be playable, so I dunno whats the limit or so maybe some one can inform me on this. And about dalaran, Its befor World of Warcraft. Here you go, rep for you! *applause* |

Nice work on most of them shots there. Some areas still need some work, like Alterac, but keep picking at it. |

oh, yea, well those lame shots where most for the comunity over there :p all screen shots are not finnished, e.g alterac, amerbill.. and some more. Um, I am currenlty looking for some one quite equal on terraining, looking to help me terrain this map, to speed things up a little. It's the Second War of Eastern Kingdom, after Arathor has fallen, and such... (Im not to great with reviews, and making them long) The project got it's sub-forum at www.gwydia.com. (Not convinced yet? Just ask more..) |

Might I suggest a fog? Really, what ruins your shots are mostly the black standard fog. A dark tealish fog never goes wrong, try it. |

I'll mixture with fogs tomorrow, don't have more time today, who knows... if it turns out good I'll update the shots. But im trying to keep the doodad numbers low, cus of the loading time and file size. (Because I belive that its a problem) If it isn't tell me, and I stand corrected. |

I wouldn't worry too much. Just keep under the minimum and you'll be fine. Besides, there's always Vex's tools. |

I like it but I can't say it's "epic". More of just good map terrain. I think "epic" is more like cinematic-quality terrain at its best. |
