Hey guys, so I've decided after all to start cinematography again, and have started on my project, The Name I've got so far for it is Dying Sun, I'll be posting a few screenies now, but yeah, I'm also going to need some help with it, like an extra terrainer and trigger expert, so they can help where and if I messed up, also I'm going to need 2 voice actors, one that can do a young hero voice and a Demonic voice and another for another character, might need more as the project rolls on, I'm aiming for 6 parts... Anyway here's the screenies, enjoy ![]() |

If your camera movement and writing can match those still screenshots in quality, this could be quite a nice cinematic. Unfortunately, I don't know if you're really that good so I can't know if it's worth my time, otherwise I would offer to help you. You should post at least some information about the plot, maybe some sample dialogue, to get people's attention. One thing about the screenshots, you're using some not-so-well fitting teamcolour on some of them (the blue units from your first post, the strong blue colour really doesn't fit well, try using some more neutral colours like black, brown, dark green, grey, light blue). |

Whao so this is how things work at this site? If you have not proved youself already, you are unworthy of any help? What a strange concept... help is only worth giving if you get something back in return? I doubt you had that same mentality when you started with the WE... |

I guess I can't say I'm a cinema God like Zurg or you and Infrane... And this cinema that I'm making would be bliss if I was able to use your system, but alas it'll take to long to learn how to master it :( I guess you could say my cinematic level is currently around that of Ghenjis, Fin. and even Player. You do improve over time though... :P But I guess I could also give some of the plot too. Plot: Ever since Khallen has been a young boy he's been having disturbing nightmares, he's been raised in village of Alanur(a village close to the great city of Tzarin) where he's spent his entire life. Khallen has very few friends, and those who he does actually consider a friend he regards as someone very dear to him. The Day started like any other day, awakening from the same terrible dream, Khallen emerges from his home, thinking on it. He reminds himself that today was also the day that he promised his friend Nox(a poweful apprentice wizzard of the Khalkirith) that he would go hunting with him today in the nearby woods.... When Khallen meets up with Nox, he is first scolded about being late then they set off to do what they intended to do. They hear strange sounds coming from a nearby homestead of a wood-cutter, they head off to go investigate... I want to post more, but then it'll just be a huge spoiler :P So people there's a little taste of what'll be going on in the first Act, just stick around and when I get my last few voice acting pieces I will post it! |

Woah, I'm glad I'm seeing someone finally arise from this drought with some potentiel... maybe your cinematics will be the last good maps before "the end"? :O Your screenshots look good, but the last one I can see the end of map, and that's always a big nono... As for voice actors, I highly suggest you just start off with just simple dialogues, cinematics that had voice actors in the archives (Cult of the Damned, The Revolution, SW part 7, Vengeance Lost, Dark Tales of Kakris etc...) Were mostly done because the creator was/is friends with a professional voice actor(s) (And again, I suggest you only take professionals, I'm sure most people would agree with me, find someone with some experience, hearing amatures do the job can really sound...well...crappy...) Also, 6 parts sounds like a hell a lot of work, I mean well good luck, 6 parts demands for a lot of patience and potentiel, so I hope you can find that, especially if you want to make archive-quality like cinematics. Just a suggestion, but if you feel like the potentiel is running out, make sure you revise ur storyline, nobody wants to see a series go dry, especially a good one, dont take Daemon_Killar's, Iron_Ian's or even me as an exemple because I'm surprised how most of those guys lasted for so long, if you can make a simple 3 part series with a good regular basic storyline youll be very well credited to even finish it. anyway, cheers, and best of luck ;) JnM |

Anti_Saint: I wanted to try to do voice acting for a while now and since cinematic projects are few and far between I just might decide to help you. Since I haven't done voice-acting before, I might suck at it, so I don't really have the right to demand a perfect cinematic from you. However, if you want my help, you should be ready to accept critique and willing to improve on what you've made so far if needed. Understand that I'm not saying this because I thought that what you made is crap, but on the contrary I feel that you show potential and want to help you make the most of this cinematic. Also, you better start learning to use that cinematic system. :P If you're serious about making this cinematic series, then "it would take too long to master it" shouldn't be an issue, since you're already in for the long term. Also, it's really not that hard to learn. JnM: So, when are you going to continue the Revolution series? :P |

@JNM: Hmmmm thanks for the crit, though I thought it would've looked like the road is going down a hill so you would see the sky, but I can see what you mean, and remember that is freshly done, the second act is still a long ways away from being done :) And getting pro voice actors is a little harder than you think, as Anitarf and you said most people help those they deem as friend, or if they know that person has some skill, I'm sure after I release the first Act this cinematic should be getting some attention and with that also more people to help me, but for the moment.... Just me doing.... Everything, except the voice of Khallen which will be done by Salbrismind, who isn't bad... Me on the other hand, total mic noob :( LOL... The End? No JNM this isn't the end, after Wc3 we'll all just be hanging around a new site called SC2campaigns.net, doing the same thing we're doing now, just think about it this way... WC will soon give birth :) @Anitarf: I'd really appreciate it if you would help me in any way! Though you'd have to send me a sample first.... since I'm also VAing for the project, but I'm also just a total noob with VAing, so I want to compare it and see which voices come out the smallest in size with the biggest quality :) |

My creative talents in cinematics are tiny and insignificant, so I don't really have anything to add. Quote:
Getting better VAs is much easier after you have a finished cinematic. If it's good and I like it then, I'd be willing to help. Quote:
Variable bit rate encoding. The best invention known to man; definately use it for all sounds you use, then even at very high compression rates, you'll get good sound quality. |

God I hate Vista soooo badly right now!!!!!! ARGHHHHH!!!!! While I was busy working on the second Act of Dying Sun, I'm just listening to music and chilling enjoying the vast landscape I'm creating, next moment I get the blue screen of death and now the damned second act has been corrupted!!!!!! ARGHHHHH!!!! So now I've lost two entire scene's and an AWESOME city I was busy creating, seriously, it looked like something Zurg was capable of, and now it's ruined :'(!!!!! But yeah... whatever.... a whole week's worth of terraining down the drain(sigh) At least I made a copy of the map when I finished the first scene, as you saw in the pics the whole black ritual thing, so I can at least work from there.... This is truly a sad day to be making cinemas :( I wanna shoot bill.... KILL BILL VOL.3!!!! |

*double post* Aight peoples, I'm going to be taking a break from making Dying Sun Act 2, one reason is yeah because my map is corrupted and the second is I've decided to start learning Anitarf's system, I've been going through Vexorion's intro to jass and stopped half-way through just to check out the system, I'm currently downloading Vengeance lost that also ran on this system so I can learn from it too :) Just one thing I'm stuggling with and that's the whole no region thing :(, like wtf are the points, how do I tell the units to move where and such, I know it has to do with something in the variables and a buncha numbers, but how do I get those numbers for those specific points ???? Anyway I guesss that question belongs somewhere else, but Arf, if you see this please pm me, and if you think I'll pick it up myself along the road.... well still pm me :P |
