Tuskarr Tribes: Players - (12) Average Game Length - I planned this map around long games Genre - undefined (a mix between survival, builders and bug evolution, i spose) This map is based on a few of my favorite map types, with the things i dont like removed (unnecessarily complex recipes etc;). Most of what you see has been adapted or fundamentally changed, but still recognizable The Mechanics: The game operates like Bug Evolution as far as resource management and units development go (Food = gold, gathered by killing small animals and used to upgrade units. Materials = Lumber, found in the form of items randomly placed on the map. Units upgraded rather than built) Base management took a few pages from Bug Evolution, Village Builder and Troll Tribes (There is one core building type, which costs materials. Once this building is complete, it can be upgraded into any number of structures which benefit your village) Population is grown via a spell system (based on the old Stronghold games, with units coming to you if your population is happy, leaving if its not). The main building has a spell called "Gather Tuskarr" which summons a base unit. The "Happiness" is represented by your main buildings mana. Your population will not leave you if you get low happiness. They only leave if you overcrowd (population guard). The win/lose idea is from Village Builder. You begin the game with a Chieftain (who has an item that builds your main building). If he dies, you lose. HOWEVER, im no fan of "you lose, leave the game" game endings SO, once you have lost your Chieftain, your tribe will be "kicked out" of their village and become nomads. You have no way of replenishing your population or rebuilding your village. However, you can harass or help other players (gathering food for them, stealing their stocks etc;). IN THE FUTURE: I have plans to add a Magnatuar tribe (or more than one) which will be controlled by players. These will act similarly to Titans or Vampires, hunting down the Tuskarr, however, they will not be much stronger or more combat capable than the Tuskarr (atleast, not to the extent of their inspiration). They will survive by stealing from the Tuskarr, but the game will not be based on a "Magnatuar vs Tuskarr" idea, but rather "Tuskarr... and there are a few Magnatuar messing around too". Please give any and all ideas, requests and/or critisms that come to mind. Feedback is very much appreciated! and PLEASE do NOT host this on a public B.Net realm, i do not protect my maps and have no intention of doing so, so I am prepared to deal with people messing with my maps, however I would much appreciate your NOT increasing the chances of this happening this is the ALPHA testing. The people i relied on to test my maps before are wowheads and have become essentially unavailable, so I have turned to the Wc3campaigns community in hopes that you will afford me some kindness and insight DISCLAIMER: not all of the features mentioned above are active at the moment, as they are not yet complete Wont let me upload screenshots right now. |
