The Mystic Occult (RP)

Plasma Dragon
The white tent in the city of Stormwind's Trade District hides the true face of its inhabiter, a group comes in to listen to the tale of an old one. He speaks calmly and wisely. A crystal ball lies on a table in front of him, a fortune teller on the side of a story teller. This is his story, and this is what he speaks.

"Ten thousand years ago, the Burning Legion came to Azeroth in search of power. The power they sought resided in what was known as the Well of Eternity. The Well precedes the World Tree in the Third War. It was a time shortly after my people were discovered by the Burning Legion and forced into slavery. We were known for our abilities to command as tacticians. You may be thinking in your head certain thoughts that I know are wrong. I am no Night Elf, I am no Draenei, nor am I anything of the Fel Demons that serve the Legion unquestioningly. I am Nathrezeim and I am all that I represent. Yes, I know again what you are thinking. I am, indeed, what your world knows as a Dread Lord. However, you would be a fool to believe Nathrezeim are any different than Humans. Perhaps in physical matters, but our minds are alike. You think there were no good-natured Nathrezeim? You would think falsely. I am one and my name is Balroc Socrizzar.

However, there is a single reason I speak to you now. I speak because no one knows. It must be stopped, things must be shed into the light. It cannot continue to stay hidden, we must interfere here and now. Now come, I must show you something...This...This is the Diamond of the Nine. Diamond, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, Topaz, Amethyst, Jade, Garnet, and Quartz are all the gems that are hidden, scattered with the other Nathrezeim that hold them, or once did. Varimathras, Mephistroth, Mal'ganis, Tichondrius, Dalvengyr, Balnazzar, Anetheron, Detheroc, and myself all hold one, or did and it followed them to their graves. Look upon the Diamond's beauty, can you see? This is not an ordinary diamond, look in its center. What do you see hidden in its depth? Indeed, white mist. Do you know what it is? A hidden power, not demonic or arcane. You cannot comprehend what it represents. You don't know why this is important, do you? Of course not...but you will."

Shady characters wearing robes as black as night patrol a cave devoid of all natural light. The only light that exists are from the crystal lamps powered by magic. One sits atop a spire-like chair, clearly the leader of all in the damp room. Humanoid figures in robes like the others enter and approach the leader. They kneel behind and to each side of the main.

"It iss I, Cathodar Septis, my Lord. News hass come from the ssurface. There hass been an apparent Third War between the forcess atop...And you may be interessted to know...The Legion had returned. Lord Archimonde wass here, at the World Tree...and sso died there. We ssaw his sskeletal remainss in the rootss of the dead tree oursselves." Dark slow laughs of amusement emanated from the figure in robes sitting atop the spire chair. Its face was hidden, like all the others. But it had a noticeable difference. It wore a mask, a beautiful one of gold and silver and platinum. The mask held nine notches arcing upward like the sunset on its forehead. The robed messenger in the center grinned in an inhuman way. His teeth were pearl white and sharp as daggers, they shone from the shade of his hood. He prepared good news, and stood up. "Masster, we have more newss, good newss! Upon disscovering the sskeletal remainss of Archimonde and tracing his stepss back to where his base camp wass formerly, we ssensed the energiess of one of his servantss! It wass Anetheron, my lord! Anetheron!"

The dark lord stood up immediately and inhuman words echoed from his hood. The words were dark and long, like unearthly groans. "Yess, my lord! We've found it! We summoned up Anetheron's remainss and harvessted the gem from his corpsse! Here it iss, my lord! We give it to you!" From his hands, Cathodar raised up a yellow and orange jewel in his offering hands. The mist inside flowed calmly. The dark lord extended its arms under the black robe and the topaz flew from the hands that offered it and into the dark lord's. Its hidden arms attached the gem to the second socket from the dark lord's right. As it fit perfectly into its notch, the mist inside swarmed wildly and it began to shine its orange and yellow color. The dark lord then laughed. It laughed in its unearthly and inhuman tone, and the robed ones in the room laughed with him.

Welcome to the first RP for the clan Override's forums, The Mystic Occult. This RP is about the shadowing guise that is hidden under the common stories of Azeroth. The Three Wars, the Well of Eternity, the Scourge, the Burning Legion, the Alliance, the Horde, and everything else that takes place on the surface of Azeroth are all irrelevant to what is hidden behind the seemingly lesser roles of small races. None of the events in this RP have come to the light of the Alliance or Horde, as none have heard of them. The RPers must choose a side, or make two characters for both if they desire. The forces for good and justice will side with Balroc and his diamond in the white tent, as they will be the group that came in to listen to his tale. The forces of evil and corruption will side with the dark robed beings, as they will be the ones that followed in under Cathodar. There are little restrictions as to what characters are allowed, the only thing that I ask is that making a character who hates a certain faction to its bones will make it hard to belong on the good side, as it will contain people from each faction and side. The tent is in Stormwind, though it can be changed to Orgrimmar, perhaps. It will depend on the characters submitted to this RP. Under the World Tree is a cave that houses the civilization of the Order of the Night Robes. In this cave dwelling is a portal that leads to the Dark Lord's cave elsewhere under Azeroth. The portal remains closed until news is brought to the Dark Lord. Cathodar is the only one in the underground civilization who knows the spell to open the portal.

Key Locations:
Order of the Night Robes
Key places in the Order of the Night Robes Society are their practice hall, dining room, barracks, a bar run by Rocky the rock golem who does not wear a robe because it can't keep him camouflaged in the cave setting, he makes a killer brew, and various other rooms. Don't think of their society as a cave dwelling sort, it's nicely decorated and even has concrete walls and nice things like beds and tables and chandeliers.

Stormwind
Stormwind, on the other hand, is highly populated, has everything for everyone's every need. It has a throne room for the boy king, a cathedral for their faith in the Holy Light in the Cathedral Square, a Trade District, a Magic District, a Dwarven District, an Old District (Can't recall whats in there but they have it), and a Park or Night Elven District. The tavern and inn in the Trade District is run by Mrs. Viola Sharringstars and her husband, Thomas. The one who runs the bar inside is a Dwarf by the name of Mulgar McMahn. He makes a fine brew.

Characters:

Heroes:
Leading NPC: Balroc Socrizzar the good-natured old and wise Nathrezeim Dread Lord fortune and story teller.

Order of the Night Robes:
Leading NPC: Cathodar Septis the slithery head of the Order of the Night Robes on Azeroth.

Images:
Picture of all famous Dread Lords and who has their gems. From left to right: Varimathras, Mephistroth, Mal'ganis, Tichondrius, Dalvengyr, Balnazzar, Anetheron, and Detheroc. Balroc's name is added in the center to show who has his Diamond.

For the moment, this is just being databased here.
