I am working on a map, nearing Beta, called Mages Magic & Mayhem. For those of you who have played it before, there is some random bug that seemingly occurs when you die, or when you become allied with Neutral players; I'm not sure which, or in all honesty, if those are really its source. Nevertheless, your hero's sight radius is changed somehow, to a very small AoE, and I can find a way to reset it to the unit's original AoE. The JASS function ResetUnitLookAt doesn't work, which is what I thought it did. So, does anyone know how to reset a unit's sight radius? Related Clarifications: - The sight radius of the other units you own stays fine, this is why I believe it has something to do with Hero death. In MM&M, heroes remain dead on the ground, and are able to be resurrected by other players. Could this leaving of the Hero's body be the source of a sight radius bug? - A player's alliances changes dynamically and often in MM&M. Could this sharing of neutral player's vision be the source of a sight radius bug? |

create a invis, unselectable unit at the base of the hero under his controll that is constantly moved to the hero via triggers. |

Well, I've thought of this, however, using said triggers can be laggy in a 12 player game, and I was hoping for a method that actually fixed your heroes sight range, not compensated for it. |

not very, if you do a .6 periodic timer it uses a 1/12 of the power of the avrg jass coded projectile spell. Which isnt that horribly much to begin with, its just the leaks that will slow you down and that is easily fixed. |

That long of a timer would never work in a game with active waygates as well as teleportation and blinking abilities as in MM&M. The trigger would have to be very fast, probably around 0.025 seconds, approximately the frame rate of WC3. |

.04 is a good standard for smooth movement. Honestly, I'm not sure whats causing the sight problems. |

Try changing the way the hero dies. I mean do you just leave it body? How does the unit rez? I would create a new unit when its rezzed. |

does his sight range shrink when he dies? |

I'm thinking the death method is the likely cause, depending on how you implemented it. Try ShowUnit() to reset sight. |

You can decrease a unit's sight range using bonus abilities, but not increase it again afterward. Kind-of sucks. |
