Odd

I was taking a look at old spells and found out that some of them have stopped working. As if the trigger was not there any more. Some time later I found out about Ice Nova not working either, but this one stops in the middle of the casting.

The maps I tested are unmodified released demo maps (that were tested intensively prior to release). All what I can account for would be:
- WINE (which would be very strange)
- The new patch.

So, I need people to verify if this spell works. Don't bother criticizing the code, it is a very old spell and it got its expected amount of wrong code. But it is very odd and if it is not WINE-related then this means some change in the patch does affect us.

Testing on 1.21b and I came up with the following.

-Didn't do any damage / slow anyone.
-Revanent wouldn't stop the channeling animation.

The correct result would be an actual nova of ice, did you see it? (I didn't)

I'll be certain to test this when I get home tomorrow morning.

I saw only the nova on the caster, didn't do any damage. He channeled it, I saw the weather and a nova on the caster. That's it. I could break the channel by moving the unit though.

Could it be something from CSCache?

What version are you using?

The nova, is a ring of ice and it is rather big.

I wouldn't call the nova big though :P

Zoom (requires log in)

That's what it did for me when I tested on 1.21b, I'm on Windows XP. It didn't do any damage, I'm sorry but I forgot to hold down alt when I took the screenshot, but I can assure you the units weren't damaged at all.

It only created a frost nova effect beneath the revenant.

P.S. ~ The cheat I used was thedudeabides the cooldown was just long and I was too lazy to check if the Test Assistant had a Reset Cooldowns ability :P

Same ^

The nova was about a 256 area total.

What do you mean by that actually? It only created 1 single nova for me, beneath the revenant.

Ya, it was one nova, but the size was about a 256 size area in WC3

It was a regular sized nova for me though.. Unless, the regular nova's size is 256, but I believe it's around 128 units.

It doesn't give that effect in 1.21b. I have 1.20c's patch in english, but someone would have to reinstall to test it. Link to a download of it for someone to use.

I have two different wc3 folders, one has 1.20e and the other which I use is 1.21b :P

I shall try this in 1.20e

EDIT: Tested and it doesn't work, it's just the same as what happened with 1.21b
