Hunter and Pet

I was making a hunter character that can summon a pet and i wanted to make it this way that the pet follows the hunter and attacks the target the hunter attacks, could someone explain me how this works?

This has to be triggered in my opinion. Therefore it would be good if you could say how good your triggering skills are for further help. At the moment I can only direct you to something made by vexorian which seems to do pretty exactly what you want.
