Thx the tutorials were quite informative, however I need something more. What I really need, is a tutorial, or some one, that could explain me how to make a regular image with section that would allow me to see what is behind them, like the "Splat" filter in wc3. Can some one point me more tutorials please ? |

You can export the splat filter, convert it to a .tga and open it with an editing program (photoshop or gimp). There you will see it has an alpha channel which creates the "gap" you see through. Just edit the alpha layer to the hole you need and you should be good to go. |

Guys this isn't helping at all ... even if I manage to get those images I will never understand how their creators did them ... I need some one who can acytually explain me how to do this. Here is more stuff I found out: Splat images are images that appear on the screen. So far so easy, problem is that I also need to see transparent areas ... and I need to see 4 of them at least. As some of you may know, such transparent areas are created by alpha channels. This wouldn't be a problem, if I need 4 transparent areas in my image, than I just create 4 alpha channels right ? ... Wrong .... Problem is that TGA images, can only have 1 alpha channel. Therefore I can't do it that easily ... I know there are ways of doing, Blizzard did it, I just can't find a way to do it ... Maybe I merge all alpha channels into one, maybe it is something else. Thing is I can't find an answer for now, can some one help me ? This is worth +rep ofc. |
