Do either Vex's optimizer or PitzerMike's Widgetizer reduce model size or is there a seperate program that does this?

OR is there nothing you can do?

there is an mdx squisher or you could always open the model and slice out crap

Didn't want to make a new thread so I'll post another question here:

Is there a way to reduce the preview picture size? Mine turned out to be a whopping 192kb...

No, there is a far better way. Assuming you are referring to .tga minimap previw image. What you need to do is change it from rgb color to indexed color mode. This is a highly optimized compression that will give you an end result of ~64 kb with no noticeable loss in quality.
