i need some models that i started making with .blp, but after that, i realizaed that the map was over 4mb (omg) and now i was wishing to use a tool that reduces the .mdx file size, now, theres a way to make a single file in .mdx that contents my .blp? |

ok i should have specified, that the tool i was trying to use was that one, but it requires to have an .mdx, bt i have my models with .blp, how do i transform them to .mdx? (before one "smart and wise" guy comes explaining (drooling) .blp 2d, .mdx 3d, read the question please, is how to pass the models. btw kwah thanks for making me see my mistake in the question. |

ok about 20 minutes ago i answered, but the msn never shows, so if reposting, sorry in advance Mr. Kwah tx for pointing out my error, the program i was trying to use was that "now i was wishing to use a tool that reduces the .mdx file size", i write it maybe in a not very comprhensive way, but oks, what i really need is how to convert models with .blp to a single one .mdx that is the one that requieres the tool. my mistake. P.D.: dont need "genius" answers <drooling>.blp 2d, mdx 3d,</drooling> read the freaking question, i need is to pass a model that USES a .blp to a single format file .mdx tx. |

What on the earth are you talking about? It doesn't help reading a question ten times more, if you can't explain what you want. But to make a model contain both mdx and blp, is impossible, and it wouldn't save any time anyway. Otherwise, what the fuck are you talking about? |

ah this is new, ok : there are models that uses .blp right? u import ur model .mdx to ur map right? and u put the texture .blp right? i hope this is clear because it gets more confusing! if u got lost sorry, u can stop reading. now theres some models .mdx that have their textures insides the files, .mdx that doesnt calls .blp files (maybe u havent seen em, or maybe they do it in a hidden way that im unaware of) how to pass the models that uses: mdx+blp to a model that has everything in a mdx so i can compress the mdx, AND see if the program that compress is efficient so i can save space with the .blp sizes. i cant make it clearer for u dude, but correct if im wrong, it would be appreciated. |

You CANNOT have the texture, and the model in one file. It will not happen. You CAN, use the link that I posted earlier, to reduce file size. The ideal solution is to use models with in-game textures. |

the reason i posted this is beacuse i received a model that only contained the .mdx file, i imported into my game and it had some textures i havent seen until that day, i can send it to a url if u ppl want, i was wondering if they dint use da .blp how they made it? its just a question, mayeb a very stupid one, its just that i have never worked with something like that, dont shoot me please. btw any way to compress the .blp then? my .blp usually is around the 250k or more XD, i would be happy with just this one really ^^ |

The model would be using a collection of in-game textures. BLP's are a blizzard specific file format that is already compressed, so I doubt that it can be. I'm curious as to how you have a 250k BLP, though. |

http://www.ierafaelperez.co.cc/wc3/ theres the .blp that is about 600+kb hope this help u and no, its not in game the texture :S, do you know of any tutorial for this, i mean a good one, to google, sometimes you find hot-heads, that doesnt explain well (like me :p) btw thanks for your help i really appreciate your answers, you have helped me to clear a lot of doubts i had. i have found models in 3ds (which i opened in blender) that comes with the texture on the files maybe something like that for the mdx? |

There is no such thing for embedding blp (or any other file) within an mdx. The skin posted seems to have been horribly uncompressed. Changing it to png changed the filesize to 150 kb! Anyway i compressed it fruther, hopefully you won't mind. Its 50KB now. |

ahhh a solution at last!!! havent tried that lol no i dont mind, i appreciate it!!! how do i compress it anyway plis so we can kill this post at last oh and btw, it is possible to call a .blp externally from the map (c:\textures ie.) using customs paths, just asking XD |

you could access textures located in your warcraft III directory ... |

akolyt0r i guess ure talking about to acces external files (outside of the map file), wjhat should be the route \image.blp c:\warcraft\image.blp is that how it is used???? well doing some research i found this cool program that works as acdsee with the .blp called xnview, has it own browser, the problem is i cant get it to work with some .blp i have. Alevice, which programs did u used, the original summoner files seems to have problems in some other software i managed to convert the file, but i managed to get it into a .png of 119k but i cant get the .blp to 55.5 how i do that? SOMEBODY TEACH ME!!!!! |
