I'll keep this short and sweet, as I am banking on the fact that the map speaks for itself. There are a lot of interesting things that I want to do as the map progresses down the 4.x series. However, I realize that my coding ability isn't adequate to tackle some of the items on the table. Furthermore, a reduced coding burden would allow me to spend more time on all the other aspects of development. I am a picky person that demands high quality. There may be times when you will want to kick me in the ass. The flip side of this though is that you will be happy with what we create. This position will involve a variety of things. This includes coding new tower abilities, game modes, commands, and features. It also includes optimizing old systems and spells. Fixing bugs (1.24) and maintaining stability are also needed. I am only seeking the most experienced and proficient of coders. I hope that both my own reputation and that of the map precede me in such a request. I ask that you provide some background on yourself and detail your abilities. Feel free to post here or PM me. Thanks! PS: There is a custom QPAD mousepad to be had! |

I think I said nigh the exact same thing like 3 days ago in my own thread. If I weren't so high-strung between so many of my own maps, I'd gladly help out. This was sort of my problem with helping ToB too, I just have too much of my own stuff that I'm doing to be of much help. What happened to emjlr3? |

Yes, I did use your post as a template for mine. I wasn't sure how to approach the thread originally, so when I saw yours I figured I'd get some ideas from someone competent. I'm flattered that you'd have filled the position if not for your own projects. Though it is probably for the best as a tug of war for focus between projects isn't ideal. Unfortunately, emjlr3 has moved on from WC3 modding for all intents and purposes. I know he is busy in real life (married, salaried job) so it is perfectly understandable. It was a great pleasure working with him (two maps, several years). |

I'm tempted to offer myself up, but I know you'd end up wanting to kick my ass because I'm lazy sometimes. That and I'm leaving for College in a month, which will then demand most of my attention for a while. If you'd like some 'light' help for the next bit, though, go ahead and shoot me a PM/email. (I have/can use the JNGP WE now, so I don't have compatibility issues anymore.) |

College is never an impediment to working on maps, I speak from experience. The only true blockades are other map commitments and personal motivation. I can handle 3 maps barely well-enough as it is, and with my strong want to do a zombie survival I'd practically be cutting off my ability to make absolutely anything else. Quote:

Additionally, I'd point you here (the vJass code of the testmap, the GUI code is not by me). |

busy indeed - what exactly are you looking for? granted I haven't touched the WE in some time now, though I doubt I have lost my touch I could possibly offer, maybe, 6-8 hrs a week, give or take, on a good week I cant imagine there is really all that much that needs doing on a side note, I thought you had decided that time spent in pursuits of Ele TD were better stipend on other platforms? |

I'm humbled that you'd offer to return to the project given your real life commitments. I'm sure you haven't lost your touch either. Quote:
This is what worries me though. Quote:
There will be. Here is a list of things on my mind currently,
That ought to be enough to require a dedicated coder. I need someone who can take this on as their primary modding project, and someone who has more than sporadic free time. A comment like this really gets my attention then, Quote:
Besides the fact that Germans are notorious for being efficient and hard working. I was in Berlin in March visiting a guy who has been with the game for years (Cisz), so I witnessed this generalization first hand. Quote:
Yes and no. It is true that I am looking to escape to another platform. At the same time, there are a lot of things I need to try out. Let me give an example. The "DotA" mode that I mentioned earlier could go from mode to standard in future incarnations of Element TD, if it proves successful on WC3. Such a consideration would be ludicrous without seeing it in action first though. Quote:

I'd like to thank everyone who showed interest in this thread. Deaod will be joining the Element TD team as the vJASS coder. This can be closed. |
