Hi guys, I am making a new map, and I would like to have a 3D arrow model which would allow me to rotate the heroes in the preview. I know exactly what I need, it is a 3D model of this arrow: Because it is a simple model I need no animations for it, I intend to code it's animations using xe. However I would like it to have a light animation on the light, like a flash or something. I give rep++ to creator and credits. if someone is interested, please help. For more information, you can see the whole UI here: http://www.wc3c.net/showthread.php?t=107464 |

I tried few things with crosair. but I think you are unable to model it. or you have lot of limits on it. |

Unable to model ? WHy ? I thought it would be easy to start a scratch model of this sample, I mean the model idea seems quite basic (to me, I don't know anything about models which is why I am asking help) and I require no animations. |

Dude. Use the "Select Hero" model in-game and just pitch and roll it to the angles you want. Path(s): "Abilities\Spells\Other\Aneu\AneuCaster.mdl" (Blue One) "Abilities\Spells\Other\Aneu\AneuTarget.mdl" (Black One) |

Wouldnt then be easier to make 2 models, each like that arrow, and you set front camera and put hero in ron of camer, and arrwo models on each side, and when palyer clicks arrows it rotates ? Or when player just holds arrow button ? I can make you model, but first tell how you planning to make it. doing this with cursor would suck i think. You wont use curosr in game ? |

Seems fine. Well, back to topic, why don't you attach a spell effect to the arrow? :P Or place a doodad / destructable with a small glow effect under it? Using an unit which arrow model also allows you changing arrow degrees. |

A bit yes, but it seems nobody is interested to model it for you. I would also suggest asking at hws. |

offtopic: time indicator frame... on: i would not overdo a selection section. if it works with a texture, why making a 3d model? it is just the selection. . . (if it would be game-relevant-and-everytime-present it would be something else) |

No worries, I will change it soon =) Quote:
Other true: The reason I also want the model is because after each level I will bring players to a shop location that will be similar to the image I showed. In this location players can buy weapons and addons that will work as attachments. The player will be able to see how his attachment will look in his ship by rotating it. I don't know if it qualifies as always present, but it will be seen a lot... SO far I am having problems importing this skin: http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/s...Dlist%26r%3D20 It simply doesn't seem to work ... after that will will see what I can do. |

Personally, the 2D image looks better than any 3D model anyone would make for it. If you want a flash, just play a special effect or something at its position when it is clicked or highlighted. |

I would make it for you. Actually I already tried makin cursor for wc3. As I know youi cna change ONLY TEXTURE. and to change model you needs some deeper knowlage, or I might be wrong. But try to import another model inside wc3 as cursor, you will see nothing. Wc3 cursor model is very small model, and its increased ingame. But when I changed it or import another one it didnt work. Red/Green detection color on cursor (enemy/ally) is also not from cursor, game detects that an colors are drawn from game.dll I think. Coz wc3 uses 2 colors as main, green and red, ally/enemy. So I suggest you that you forget about getting new cursor model into map. Its hard i think. Or I didn never figure out most of things about cursor. |
