post your trigger. you must be doing something wrong. or, if only one hero of each type can be used, just give the items to the heros in WE and make the trigger simply switch control of the hero to the owner of the wisp. |

You are using the trigger for Items. The trigger you want is under Hero. |

events: unit enters map cond. unti is 'a hero' class unit spawn item, give last crewated item to entering unit |

Or just Hero - Create Item and Give to Hero :p |

ahhh i did that but it dont work heres wut i got Select Unit Skill Sword Events Unit - A unit enters Sword <gen> Conditions (Unit-type of (Triggering unit)) Equal to Wisp Actions Unit - Create 1 White Slave for (Owner of (Triggering unit)) at (Center of Shop <gen>) facing Default building facing degrees Unit - Remove (Entering unit) from the game Wait 2.00 seconds Hero - Create Small Sword and give it to (Triggering unit) |

You're giving the sword to the Triggering Unit, aka the Entering Unit, which you had just removed. Try giving it to Created Unit instead. Also, make sure that whatever unit this slave is, it can hold items. And finally, what the hell sort of map are you making that's apparently endorsing slavery, white or otherwise?!? :WD: |

um im makin a map with gladiators |
| 09-16-2003, 10:16 PM | #11 |
Heh, I noticed that when I checked your sig. I'm just making a little bad joke. Does the trigger work now? |
| 09-16-2003, 10:24 PM | #12 |
noo i dont get it |
| 09-16-2003, 11:40 PM | #13 |
Ok what he was saying was you had this. Events Unit - A unit enters Sword <gen> Conditions (Unit-type of (Triggering unit)) Equal to Wisp Actions Unit - Create 1 White Slave for (Owner of (Triggering unit)) at (Center of Shop <gen> ) facing Default building facing degrees Unit - Remove (Entering unit) from the game Wait 2.00 seconds Hero - Create Small Sword and give it to (Triggering unit) And then your problem is right there in the bold.... your giving your item to the triggering unit which the triggering unit is the wisp. Since the wisp was already removed... it puts the item in the middle of nowhere. Your best bet would be to do this I think: Events Unit - A unit enters (Entire map) Conditions (Unit-type of (Entering unit)) Equal to White Slave. Actions Hero - Create Small Sword and give it to (Entering unit) Not sure of this will set off anytime he revives or something like that or if it will interfere with your respawn triggers but you could make it only run once by adding a: Action: Trigger - Turn off (This trigger) |
| 09-17-2003, 12:30 AM | #14 |
A possibly better (and slave free! ) trigger is to make it like this.Event -Some guy types message exactly "-Equip Sword" Action -Give small sword item 2 hero |
| 09-17-2003, 12:36 AM | #15 |
That would then require a trigger to tell people to type it. Even then people would not notice it for one reason or another and then claim the game is "cheap" becuase someone else has a sword and he doesnt. |
