Oooh Chaos + 'Aloc' = Unselectable unit, otherwise normal.

Normally adding 'Aloc' (the locust ability) to a unit makes it unselectable but also removes collision detection (it'll even walk off the side of the map) and makes it completely untargetable.

HOWEVER, if a unit has been transformed with a Chaos ability then 'Aloc' will cause it to be unselectable but still targetable and obeys all the collision rules. The only downside is I dont believe 'Aloc' can be removed.

I'm sure this could prove extremely useful to some people :ggani:

yes, but the only reason u'r adding the "aloc" skill is because it's a Dummy unit :))
but, useful information for n00bs who want to tinker with aloc..

Give us a hint, Grater; I have no clue what that'd be used for.

I'm guessing you mean it for something were a unit can't be targeted? like, you don't want people to be able to select them? although I still don't realise where that can be used...maybe with some units which are SUPER stealthy...so stealthy they can't be selected? that's my 2 cents...

Perhaps you're making a Castle Defense, and you want the King in the middle to be uncontrollable by a player, but still able to be attacked by the creeps.

I'd rather use an ally Computer Player, your function, and the change unit color action.

That way I can still see hit points and that stuff

It's not bad, but in some games ie (3v3v3v3) players slots are really limited..

Also having the summons belonging to the player REALLY simplifies bounty collection.

Should find another way since the chaos ability is not the best ability we could use. There must an easier to implement ability with the same effects. I will be looking for it.

So, how do you do this? Transform it with chaos then add aloc or add aloc then chaos it or what?

AWESOME! For all you non believers... this was EXACTLY what I was looking for. I want an obedient little pet who cant be controlled, but I couldnt make it b/c then people couldnt target it easily. So, now it's perfect! /hug
