Back in the SC days there was a map called Rock, Paper, Scissors in which you moved your civilian to a beacon where you picked a unit that was either Rock, Paper, or Scissors. Following the rules of Rock, Paper, Scissors... Rock smashes Scissors Scissors cuts Paper and Paper smothers Rock But there was a twist, no instant-win lame crap, you had to fight to win, meaning those who picked rock would get an advantage over those who are Scissors, those who picked Scissors got an advantage over Paper, and those who picked Paper got an advantage over Rock. StarCraft examples(not exact): Rock/Paper/Scissors Corsair(Low hitpoints, kills Air instantly)/ Marine(Low hitpoints, Little Air damage)/ Guardian(High Ground damage, Lots of Hitpoints) You see, the Corsair is going to kill the Guardian, the Guardian is going to kill the Marine, and the Marine is going to slaughter the Corsair. Now, think of that for War3. I'll give an example. Rock/Paper/Scissors Gryphon Rider(High Magic Damage)/ Dryad(Magic Immune, Low Hitpoints, Low Damage)/ Grunt(High Ground Damage) Get it? Add your Rock,Paper,Scissors units now. NOTE: I'm currently working on a map like this, so your unit suggestions will most likely be going into the map. |

um...oo, custom make the units, and skins and such to make them look like rock, paper etc. and give them advantage spells as well, like paper can catch on fire but rock and scis cant. |

No way am I bogging down my map size with useless skins, and each round there's going to be a random 3 different units. |

Sounds like a great idea but based on what your gonna hafta make you will have plenty of room left for skins to lag. I mean unless you got crappy comp, then they shouldn't slow it down more than they'll make their worth. If you really don't want to, then see if you can match units to their "type". Like make Rock, a rock golem, and make paper some sort of paperish lookin thing, etc. etc. |

Normal/Heavy > Piece/Medium > Magic/Unarmour > Normal/Heavy It's the Melee > Range > Caster > Melee cycle. |

You can use Gollems as Rocks , blademaster as scisors and a guard tower as paper or Really you don't need skins, there is already a rock model , and somebody can make a scisors model that uses a weapon skin, the paper model can use some other skin too. Models of simple stuff usually take 10 to 25 Kb , also don't be affraid to use skins since your map wouldn't take a lot with them since it doesn't sounds like a map that will need a lot of abilities / triggers |

Here's an idea - make a blank .blp file, and import it into your map. Set the custom path to the model that you want to de-skin. The result will be a blocky, polygonal unit -- perfect for an origami "paper" unit. Murlocs are very blocky; they'd make a great paper frog. I'm sure you could do the same with a couple of different units. |
