I am currently working on adding heros to a map I already have completed. The map is Wyvern Wars and is similar to a zone control but played on islands.... anyways. What different units should I base air heros on? Right now I am trying to decide on about 8 models to use. If you have spell ideas let me know too. |

I think only mounted air units since they look like real heroes... how can a dragon be a hero... Its just a strong creep... so use... - Hippogryph Rider - Gryphon Rider - Wind Rider ://// and anything else mounted (thats air) |

How could dragons be hero's, easy. Elder dragons are pretty much the wisest creatures, and most powerful too (not exactly in wc3). If you want to mount somethings, try attaching a human type model to the chest of an unmounted unit. Using the trigger. Other things to use are the locust, the undead base (flying fortress), the ship. |

In an RoC map that I never quite finished, I had a flying unit using the water ship model. It's really neat-looking, especially if you set the maximum tilt to something relatively high, so it rocks back and forth as it floats over the land. |

I say any flying unit that speaks rather than roars. Wind Rider Hippo Rider Gryphon Rider Dragonhawk Rider Bat rider. Harpy Gyrocopter Zepp or Skybarge (used by undead AI in missions) |

Black citidel. You can make it some sky fortress or something. Once I made it have really high refire rate and low range and it was like blasting units below death-star like. And you all forgot the storm crow. It's really cool (but now we're listing down all possible air units...) |

Storm crows are animals, they have beaks not mouths. Harpies are humanoid and can definitely talk (like in campaigns, and atleast one of the annoyed), I think they just screech to be rude. They have a wide range of skills in the wild suggesting reasonable intelligence, definite plausable hero material. (granted a harpy that decides to become a hero would have to have a rather exceptional story...) I think dragons are too powerful to be heroes, the only ones that talk are the quest ones. |

You guys DO realize that sound sets can be changed, right? There's nothing preventing you from taking a gargoyle and chaning the Sound - Use Sound Set to whatever you like. So leave beaks out of it; parrots talk with their throat, really, not their beaks. If you could change the sound set parrots use, that'd be even cooler. |

How bout the mounted units are the good and holy warriors while the ordinary flyers (Harpy, Gargs etc.) are the evil possesed and deformed ones... |

Perhaps a wyvern using the huntresses glaive weapon? |

That sounds like a mutalisk, or just about. Same bouncing glaive attack, too. |

Thanks for all the ideas. I like most of them. The only problem with the wyvern rider is that wyverns are the main unit in the game... although mayeb I should change that to riderless wyverns... actually I think I will. anyone have good ideas for spells for air units? |

I got a good hero model you can use that I downloaded in the model forums and give the model credit to the person in the readme |
