I'm trying to import skins. I put in the path for the skin (It's correct or atleast I think it is) and nothing happenes. The unit still has the same skin. But I can still use skins that come with a model (from the download section.) I just can't change the skin for the original units for some reason. Heres what I would do if I was importing a skin to a Villager Man. war3mapImported\VillagerMale.blp I change it to... units\critters\VillagerMan\VillagerMan.blp (copied from object editor and added .blp .) Then I would select the unit and place it on the map. But he looks the same. No green box or anything. I even saved it and restarted but nothing. Help me. |

i had some problems on that area today, but i got it right....its easy...u need the correct path, if ur not sure, i will never work..cause u might be using the wrong one... well., knowing the path, u click on the file u imported and put the path, with .blp after... "VillagerMale.blp units\critters\VillagerMan\VillagerMan.blp (copied from object editor and added .blp" thats wrong....cause....well, its wrong...remove the first part...and leave the second, it would be like this "units\critters\VillagerMan\VillagerMan.blp" and them close import manager, save map, close , close editor, reopen editor, open map, and them place the unit u used the skin on...it should work.... |

You had the path wrong. The real path is... Units\Critters\Villagerman\VillagerMale.blp or Units\Critters\Villagerman1\VillagerMale1.blp since there are two types of villager males, bearded and not. I wouldn't recommend your little method. Alot of mdx and blp paths are different even though they are they the same unit. Instead go here for a complete list of paths. Some paths use Textures\(Unit Name).blp, like the Demon Hunter. Others have mispelling like the Druid of the Talon. |

EDIT: Hey that path works. Thanks. So the last one should be the name of the file? Like VillagerMale instead of man? |
