Well, yes I know there is a Sticked Spell thread, but this one is different. This is revolving around a specfic type of spells, umbrumancer spells. Which are a mix of Undead and Demon. Now, this is for a campaign, so all your spell ideas, if they are taken, will be put in the credits, and the spell will be confined to the campaign, unless you give credit to me, and the campaign. Just PM me for more information.

Anyways, so ideas are needed. They can range from simple to complex. No preferites here. There will be about 3-5 levels on each spell. Please specify if you intend it to be an ultimate or not. Otherwise I will choose depending on its power and use.

I will make pretty much all of the spells, unless they become overwhelming. Please try to limit yourself to at least 2 spell ideas per post. In this thread, first come first served. I will post the spells in this post, and further down with a link. Or vice versa.

So, keep those ideas coming! And can't wait to get my first idea!

[Death]
Demon Undead
Ultimate

Just like Raise Undead, but better.

Level 1:
Raises three corpses. But instead of the regular corpses, they're demons. (Felguards, DoomGuards, Flaming Archers, Skeleton Archers, Skeletal Mages, regular skeletons, and maybe Demon Pigs ^_^)

Level 2:
Four corpses instead of three.

Level 3:
Five corpses instead of four.

Level 4:
Six corpses instead of five.

Level 5:
Seven corpses instead of six.


Island of the Dead
Demon Hero's Ultimate

Creates a portal that spawns spirits every five seconds (Spirit tower attack) that are melee attackers that randomly target any unit it sees and attack it once (kind of like locust).

Level 1:
Portal has 300 Hit Points. Spawns 2 spirits.

Level 2:
Portal has 350 Hit Points. Spawns 3 spirits.

Level 3:
Portal has 400 Hit Points. Spawns 4 spirits.

Level 4:
Portal has 450 Hit Points. Spawns 5 spirits.

Level 5:
Portal has 500 Hit Points. Spawns 6 spirits.

Erm... Those I just have to say 'no' to. They both are extremly close to modified spells. I want them to be trigger worthy... :P Awesome format though!!

Alright since I am making a Super Smash Brothers arena (not like other arena's) I could use some help making spells. Let's see... I could jot down a large list, but I don't have a great deal of time, so I'll edit this post as spells are needed.

Spell name: Cape

Description: Mario bats a unit with his cape dealing light damage and knocking the unit back a short distance.

Level 1: Deals 50 damage, knocks unit back 70 units.
Level 2: Deals 100 damage, knocks unit back 80 units.
Level 3: Deals 150 damage, knocks unit back 90 units.
Level 4: Deals 200 damage, knocks unit back 100 units.
Level 5: Deals 250 damage, knocks unit back 125 units.

Bent Dimension: Ultimate

Turns the day into night, a red fade filter is put on for every player (red matching a demonic color).

Causes bolts of thunder, cyclones/hurricanes, demons crossing over, earth shifts, and whatever cool effects you want! Make sure you choose if the effect moves with the hero, is affected in the entire map, or is effected in a targeted area.

Level Info:
Level 1: 30% chance of one effect happening, 25% for 2, 20% for 3, 15% for 4, 10% for 5.
           15% chance of summoning a random unit every 1 second.
           2-4 cyclones
           Casts Lightning (Not chain/fork) 2 times a second
           2-3 earth shifts (earthquakes)
           <your 5th one here>
           10 seconds
Level 2. 25% chance of one effect happening, 30% for 2, 25% for 3, 20% for 4, 15% for 5.
           20% chance of summoning a random unit every 1 second.

Repeat pattern!

Dark Repent:

Creates one of those purple gateway thingies (tint it black) in the sky. It has a strong static force that is so great, light is pulled into it and anything hit by the light will be damaged. The lightning randomly moves around, (it'll have the chain lightning effect). It does NOT cast chain lightning on enemy units, FYI. It randomly moves on the ground.

every level increases the amount of static forces.

Glimpse of hell:

Shows a single ground unit a glimpse of hell, the targetted unit is drawn under the ground (using a small but deep crater terrain deformation) accompained by fire effects. The victim is stunned and immobile for the duration of the spell. The victim takes damage, and upon being returned to the earth the victim and nearby units are terrified (by a small radius howl of terror).

lvl1: 50 damage to victim. Area effect -1 armor, -30% attack damage.
Damage, armor reduction and attack damage reduction increased per level, durations remain constant.

Shimrra
Another type of spell that would be good for this unit could be shadow spells. Umbramancer, if broken into it's roots, would be:

Umbra - Latin first declension noun (f) that means 'Shadow'
Mancer - usually translated to 'One who wields' or 'Summoner of'

Thus an Umbramancer would be 'One who summons\wields Shadow'

Abyss- Ultimate - Briefly opens up a direct link to the innermost bowels of hell, spewing forth the most vile, corrupt demonic energies.

The 'link' is a couple dummy units using the force wall model, using sfx create a cage-ish effect using the missile art from finger of death. like a pentagon of energy that you can't get out of. Sorry if this is kinda vague but I'm having trouble articulating my thoughts at the moment.



Demon Ghost - Stampede type spell, only instead of the stampeding units going forwards and away, these curve and constantly circle the casting unit until they hit their target. This probably wont be based on stampede:) The stampeding unit should be that of a banished :

Level 1 - Zombie
Level 2 - Ghoul
Level 3 - Aboomination
Level 4 - Voidwalker
Level 5 - Archimonde, scaled down some.

Edit banish so that it doesn't have its sfx on the stampedeing unit, so they're just ethereal w/o the green fogish stuff.

anyways i got some ideas in beta,

Spirit Well: Ultimate
(not sure if this has been done already but)
a tornado spwans, and shades go out in every direction (you could make it like 10 directions or something like that) the spirit is then trigger-ordered to move to a random unit within (whatever range you like) probably 2000 units and when the ghost comes within a close range the ghost will use posess on the unit
Each level make more and more ghosts come out of the tornado

Shadow of the Future: Regular
An infernal summoned creature, in which all enemy units that come within 500 units (or some other range) will get cast either (shadow strike or something else. you can make up a skill that the shadow of the future casts)
Each level make the range bigger or something like that

P.S. couldn't think of a good name for 2nd spell, lolz

As for spells, make a fireball nuke spell.

Is it possible to set z axis direction of a spell object? I believe it is. And so, make fireballs go up and outwards and create a cloud of smoke over it. It'd look pretty cool.
