Recently, I've been wondering if I could export skins and models from World of Warcraft into Warcraft III. Sure enough, it is possible. The file extension system is the same and It has been done. http://www.wc3campaigns.com/gallery/...teldrassil.jpg http://www.wc3campaigns.com/gallery/...-stormwind.jpg http://www.wc3campaigns.com/gallery/...51-origrim.jpg What I am wondering is how I can extract these. I have WinMPQ and have successfully obtainted the blp and Mdx files however, they are unviewable in the world editor at all. I have set the paths for a Tauren Male to: Character\Tauren\Male\{filename.blp/mdx} then set any ordinary unit or doodad to the MDX file. I am wondering if anyone can shed any light on this, Thankyou! ![]() |

Did you manage to convert the model to mdl. If yes, can you post the mdl so I see if it is not slightly different from wc3 models. |

Also, regardless of the "same filesystem" that they use. They don't anymore. Recently, the WoW texturs have been made unreadable by War 3 (so as to dispromote anything like this) and the model format has been completely changed to MD2 format (not MDX/MDL format). Yeah, it's still possible to do something like this, but I just can't believe that these pics are from ripped models from WoW. I just think that theyre made to look that way. For me to be convinced, show the map files so we can see them ourselves? (I know this cuz I started this: http://www.wc3campaigns.com/showthread.php?t=65869 ) |

Isn't there some way to convert MD2 to MDX or MDL? |

Not really supposed to talk about this in this forum, but you can DL from bit torrent or something the 0.10 version of WoW off the internet, and jus get the MDX2s from the MPQ file. |

Why don't you just post the mpq here? |
| 11-22-2004, 12:05 AM | #11 |
Because the MPQ file would be hundreds of megabytes big, even compressed. |

honestly those are really wow models, since old wow format of model was mdx. format 1300, there is a group of tools that allowed ppl to import the wow models to max 6, i've transformed 1, here is it: only prob is that it lost all the anims. |
