Melee and Ranged Spells

Ive tried all I could, but it doesnt seem that I could have a melee attacker with a ranged spell auto cast the range spell at its range, (700)

it simple goes into h-t-h and starts using the spell then, not at 700 range.

another problem i encountered was that i made 2 attacks, one melee and another ranged (tried to fix the problem above), and a minimum range of 200, so it would range attack then withen 200 it would h-t-h, but that didnt happen either

does anyone have an answer?

o and is it possible to have a spell with a minimum range?

As per your second question, the minimum attack range effects both your attacks, so if you've got a melee attack at less than 200 and a min attack range of 200, it can't use that attack.

The "arrow"-style spells are an enigma. Sometimes they don't seem to work in melee. Sometimes they do. Sometimes it seems like they just use the range of the unit, sometimes it seems like they use their own printed range. Experiment thoroughly, and if you get good results, post them here.

ii actually tested it a bunch of times

my archers were melee and the skill was fire arrow (to show how crappy they were at hand to hand and prefered to kill at a distance or get wasted)

and they always got into hand to hand, then used their arrow attacks, which murdered everyone at close range, cuz then the enemy couldnt dodge it

thats also why i wanted to negate the fire arrow spell when someone got withen 200 of it
