I do not know how to change the angle that buildings are faceing. I can do it with units but not buildings. Don't tell me you can't because I saw a tutorial a long time ago that said you could. (I can not find it) ![]() |

i dont think you can rotate buildings normaly as they are units. but you can edit the angle a unit faces in the object editor, proveing its a unit. but if youre talking about destructables, i dont think you can rotate them freely. but if you make a doodad useing the model of a building, you can rotate it by double clicking and editing the angle on that window. or holding ctrl and left clicking while moeving the mouse around the doodad |

Make the rotation of the building -1 in the object editor. |

Guest | I read somewhere else on these forums of the following method, but have yet to try it. As I understand it, this procedure will be the last thing that you do to your map. Apparently all you need to is to go to the object editor and change the building in question to not be a structure - I think that's something under the field called "Unit is a structure/building". Then you go back to the main window and double click on the building and you should be able to change it's rotation. Then all you'll have to do is to change its classification back to a building. I understand that if you move the building in question, it will rotate back to what it defaults to. Hope this works, and that it helps. |

Unfortunatly once the game starts you can't seem to make buildings face anywhere with triggers, even if you leave is a building off. I made a unit door and need to have it created with scripts, and i cant seem to make both the vertical and horizontal. In fact I can only get horizontal to work without using this trick. It's too bad too, cause i got the door to work perfectly, including open and dead states. I can't even seem to make a unit with a pathing map that is vertical version of the gate, cause the horizontal and vertical use the same path map. |

oh you mean in game? thats a whole different ball game then. try making a version of the model that is oriented vertical. thats how bliz does it with their gates and shit. |

The problem is that the same pathing map is used for horizontal and vertical, and i cant set the building angle in teh unit editor (you can set in the destructable doodad editor) I've ultimatly decided to use the doodad, but then but a dummy unit that will be selected as the door, and that can have siege and everything, and make the doodad invonerable. then when the dummy unit dies, the doodad can go with it. |
